I'm snowed in and bored out of my mind. What's everyone up to?
Re: Where is everyone?
You should make tacos...fish tacos if you and DH like fish
Great idea! We had beef fajitas last night so I think fish tacos sounds AMAZING. As long as they have fresh fish. Not sure if they've been getting deliveries with all this snow. From a friend's FB:
Bread anyone?
I'm guessing you meant lap
. I hear ya! GL!
ETA: Maybe you'll get some cash at your AHR.
Lap, map... whatever, as long as it lands in my general vicinity. haha. Yeah, I'm figuring we will get some cash at our AHR, but either way it shouldn't take more than a couple months to save up, so I'll just have to wait patiently. NOT my forte.
Fish tacos for dinner so sound yummy! Even if they don't have fresh fish, our supermarket carries really good quality frozen fish. You may want to check it out. I can't remember the brand now, but they individually seal & freeze each piece of fish, so it's still really fresh tasting.
I'm here. on & off.
It JUST started snowing here. The area that I live in seems to be in some random hole in storm...so everyone around us is getting hammered with snow, whereas we are only getting flurries at the moment. I was really hoping for a snow day.....
They did say we could still have up to 10" by the time all is said & done, but that's nothing compared to what you've gotten & are still getting Jenni!
My Planning Bio! Married Photos! My Blog!
This is how I feel right now:
Ok, call me crazy but what about fish stick tacos if they don't have any fresh fish? That way they are already breaded - haha - you would just need to cut them into smaller pieces when you bake them. I would seriously eat that. But I eat just about anything
Here's a pic at SIL's place from Saturday. DH and a friend are throwing snowballs and I'm the little pink thing on the far left.
My husband would love you for this. HAHA! He loves fish sticks. It is hilarious.
I wouldn't have thought of this, not because I don't like fish sticks (lets not get crazy) but because I don't really eat fish tacos with breaded fish. A lot of places near where I live serve fish tacos with just freshly grilled fish. Oh! Shrimp would work well also!
Jenni - that picture, flipping Winter the bird is hilarious.
I'm sure that's complete insanity! I live in Baltimore and the sense of entitlement surprises me everyday!
Vodka margaritas a yummy & a good substitution!
Also yummy, mojitos made with good tequila. Just in case you ever find yourself with mojito mix, tequila, and no rum. Plus I don't like rum at all.
Do you have to go to a packy to buy wine? That's what dad calls them (he grew up in MA) and he still calls liquor stores "packy's" even though he's lived here for 40 years.
Come to Memphis where half the population thinks they deserve reparations from slavery. I only wish I was joking....
Good to know! I love mojitos but generally am not a fan of rum. Must try them with tequila. I've never bought mix and every time I try to make them at home from scratch they're really gross. My BF's boyfriend makes delicious mojitos but they moved to Louisianna.
We call them liquor stores and have to go there for all alcohol. Beer, wine and liquor.
I've had one person yell at me about this. He was screaming that I needed to pay him.right.then. He didn't seem to care that my grandparents came over on the boat in the '30's.
That's so weird. I wonder if we (Californians, & other states where you can buy alcohol in the grocery store) would drink way less if we had to make trip specifically for alcohol. Hmmm...
Not yet. The grocery store is literally across the street and I just looked out the window to see if they're open. Well, I can't even see the store. It might be chicken for dinner.
Anyone have a good chicken recipe not require many ingredients? We really have nothing.
By my social circle, I would guess not. Maybe you would drink less wine though. Like now, I'm considering liquor because it's what we have in the house.
Do you have bbq sauce and hamburger buns? You could make bbq chicken sandwiches.
Something I do when I really hit a cooking wall - simple grilled chicken (pan grilled is fine), with any veggie we have in the house, and any starch - rice, mashed potatoes, garlic bread, whatever. It's simple.
