My period was late. I was peeing constantly. I was hungry all the time. I took a pregnancy test last night...it was positive! I took another this morning...it was positive, too!
I'm completely freaking out! DH and I were not trying right now. We wanted to wait 2 more years or so. I keep bouncing between excited and scared sh!tless. It is super early (if my charting was correct-although who knows, coming off the pill and charting got us into this-I'm about 3 weeks pregnant), so only my mom, best friend, and coworker know (although another coworker figured it out because my doctor called me back this morning at my desk phone and we were very clearly talking about baby-related things), and of course DH.
I just keep thinking about all of the logistical things...we are saving for a house, DH is losing his "man cave," who is going to take care of him/her when I go back to work, I'm starting a new job in a month - how are they going to take it?, I don't think I'll make it to visit my family this summer since I'll need to save my vacation time, are out friends still going to hang out with us?
Ok...I'm back to trying to focus on work but man oh man...my brain is clearly elsewhere today!
Re: Kind of freaking out...(rambling)
!!!!! *bouncing up and down in excitement!* I know you're a little stressed, but I'm thrilled for you!!!
Now. Take a deep breath and relax a little. Everything will work itself out, I promise.
How are you feeling physically?
Not that I have experience with this... but hearing the stuff my friends with children say about family planning is that there is no perfect time to have a baby. There will always be other things in your life that you are going through, or things that you want to do that might stand in your way, or other things you want to do that aren't baby related. You and DH will be able to face these things together as they come. And while a baby might seem like it complicates things, I think they can also help put things into perspective.
I know it's stressful, but be excited! Don't waste this time being stressed out, enjoy it as it's happening, or you might regret it down the road. But I'm excited for you!!! And keep us posted!
DANG IT! Now we can't go work for People's Revolution together! hehe....just kidding....I just got REALLY excited for you...
You guys are SO cute and will make the CUTEST babies ever! I completely undersatnd how you feel. I'm not pregnant, but the whole "logistical things"...yup. As far as your new job, they will HAVE to understand because if they don't then they are in big trouble. You have PLENTY of time to figure everything out. You don't have to go buy a house and cancel your vacation with your family by tomorrow! You're friends WILL still hang out with you. If they don't, they were never your friend to begin with. Everything will all work out! I PROMISE!!!! YYYAAAAYYYYYY I'm SOOOOO excited for you guys! Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't leave us and run to the Bump boards and forget about us (me). You are one of my FAVS and I will be sad.... or I will go over to the Bump board and stalk the crap out of you.
MY BLOG!
Ha!
Thanks you ladies. And don't worry, I'm not going anywhere! This will always be my "home" board.
I'm just so excited and so scared at the same time - I know everything will work out but it just seems so overwhelming right now. I'm so glad I have you all to talk to! I wanted to post about it last night but wanted the double confirmation before I said anything. I go for my first OB visit on March 12th, so I will let you know how it goes.
As for how I'm feeling, pretty much normal. I have had a lot of cramping (period-like), which is normal as long as there is no bleeding. I get nauseous every afternoon just in time for my metro ride home, which is awesome (kidding). I am a little more tired than usual, more so last week than this week, but not too bad. The cramping is the most annoying thing!

This is crazy! Everybody already gave you great advice (DV: there's no such thing as a perfect time; Onion: your friends will still hang out with you); so I won't add to it. I just can't imagine grad school, work, and a baby--but you're smart and will figure it out. Plus, Juan is there too.
@Cipolla, you're a dork.
MrsMuffin- looks like we will be due about the same time! I just calculated my due date based on conception date and it looks like he/she will be a Halloween baby (10/28ish)!
Congrats to you, too
And thank you, thank you, thank you girls. I feel much better...now if I could just focus on work!
