Holy crap! That was quick!
WAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I can't wait to see how you decorate it.
Thanks everyone!
Here are few interior pics. It's 1580 sq ft - one story with some of the basement finished (the pool table pic). 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath. The outside is kind of sad looking with blue painted cedar shingles.

Thanks all!
I'm terrified! I can't believe people just let us have a house like that. We're lucky we know how to open a window.

It's super cute! I love it. The floors are beautiful! Looks like guys won't have to do much besides decorate.
And buy a dog.

We need to agree on what kind of dog first! And that will wait several months until we can financially and mentally adjust to having a house first.
One of our biggest musts when hunting was that it had to be move-in ready. And we lucked out on this one, because although the exterior could use some TLC, the interior down to the paint is perfect for us.

Wow Mamie!!!! I am so happy for you!! It looks gorgeous w/the white moldings and hard woods. I'm sure it was worth the wait!!! YAYY!!!
keep us in the loop with all of the closing stuff!!

Thanks all! I fell in love with the white molding and hardwoods. The kitchen is the perfect size and pretty updated. It even has a counter space (with no cabinets, just two pull drawers) on the one wall to serve as a coffee nook.

Congrats! I'm slightly obsessed with the molding... and who has a coffee nook? Holy awesome.
I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.
One&Only Palmilla - Los Cabos, Mexico
Here's the sad looking exterior. Haha

Its not bad... once the snow melts and you get some flowers blooming and brighten things up I'm sure it will be cute!

I think it will look a lot newer without the frumpy window awnings. Other than re-painting down the road, you could also consider adding trim around the roof line. I don't know how hard/easy that is, but it's missing the "outline" newer houses have.
ETA: But I still don't think it's as sad an exterior as you first implied. It's a cute little house.
Oh you're right about the roof trim. I didn't even think about it. I also wonder how hard/easy that could be.
Lucy Elizabeth 10.27.12
You know, it may be there, and it was all just painted the same color. I see a faint line that could be a trim along the roofline.
That was one of the first things DH noticed about our house--the trim had been painted the same color as the rest of it.
Lucy Elizabeth 10.27.12
I think it is... just the same color. We had this problem with our house initially too.
And the landscaping thing requires work but its relatively easy as long as you read the tags on the plants and plant them where they want to be. Make sure you buy stuff that is native to your area (i.e. dont try to grow hibiscus in PA - it will just be a headache and a waste of money). Plant perenials (sp?) so you dont have to redo it every year and check the mature heights of things so you dont end up planting things in the wrong order in flower beds.
Don't overcrowd things -- it should look pretty empty the first year or you'll be weeding stuff out by year 3. Also, stick with repitition and it will look a lot more cohesive and professional than if you try to put in a little bit of everything. Then just dont forget to water everything until its established (for trees and shrubs that might mean the entire first year not just a couple of weeks) and water slowly for a longer period of time so that it encourages deep roots.
