So.....Avon Walk #2 is rapidly approaching and I'm in full training mode now. Tomorrow is a 16 mile walk. There are now two 4 mile walks each week, one super long one each week followed by another pretty long one, which is usually hald the distance of the super long one. Then I do strength training 2 times a week, gentle yoga twice a week, and I stretch about 30-40 minutes after each walk.
In any case, here's my AW. I thought I was really well prepared for last year's Avon Walk. I found out after Day 1 of the walk (which is 26.2 miles) that I wasn't nearly as prepared as I'd hoped. I nearly didn't complete Day 2 (which is 13.1 miles). When I first started training, a 10 mile walked kicked my butt. I would be totally wiped out, sleeping afterwards, didn't do a thing the rest of the day. Now, I get home and still have energy. I did 14 miles last week and was fine afterwards, did 7 the next day and wasn't sore at all. I have made MAJOR progress this time around! I am so excited.
I was sitting here thinking "omg, omg, omg...the walk is coming up fast" and was so excited I had to share with someone!! ![]()
Thanks for 'listening'!

Awwww...thanks guys! I just can't believe the difference in how I feel this time around. I keep thinking "holy crap, is this really ME?!?" It feels pretty great!
And, best of all, this means less than 2 months until I get to meet some of our DC Nesties too! Yippee!
