For our HM we stayed at the Regal Sun Resort in Downtown Disney.  It's not a Disney property per se, but it still has transport.  We booked it through one of those discount travel websites (I forget which one) for $60 a night or something inexpensive like that.

I was looking at Pop Century for our May trip but we settled on the Marriott that Bellebride had her wedding at.  It's more expensive but it looks like a fabulous hotel.

  • I want to stay in the new Contemporary so bad... but like you said, in another part of life, haha.

I'm trying to think of ways you can save money in Disney.  We're saving on tickets because when we go in May we'll be FL residents.  Once you're in the park though, it's hard.  You can pick and choose where you eat, but even fast food ends up being about $15 per person.

There's a hot dog place at the entrance of Magic Kingdom that is really inexpensive.  The Electric Umbrella is the only pace I found in Disney that has the fountain beverages you fill yourself, so you can sneak a free refill.

IMO the experience is totally worth the money, though.  And since you've been in 7th grade I'm sure it's changed quite a bit.  If you go you have to do Soarin' in EPCOT.  It was an amazing ride.

  • No SUV here.  I've got a Scion xD which is my baby.  Best car evar!

DH is going to be in the market for a car by the end of this fall.  He's chomping at the bit to get one now but we financially have to wait and because we'll be moving a bunch.  He wants a Camaro so bad, and new nonetheless.  I'd prefer he bought a sensible used.

I was trying to tell him that there will be time to buy fancy cars AFTER he's a successful doctor, not while he's still in med school.  I'm not getting through.

the price that I'm looking at really isnt that bad..and we'd really only have two full days there..so i was thinking magic kingdom one day, and epcot another...i loooved both.

  • I agree with you.  When we go in May we'll have Saturday all day and Sunday until mid afternoon.  Very short.  We'll probably do Magic Kingdom on Saturday and Epcot on Sunday.  They're tied in my book.

Animal Kingdom is totally skip-able.  It's so boring.  And MGM/Hollywood Studios is good, but doesn't kill a whole day so can also be skipped.

I'm so excited to go back.  It's an addicting place.  I'm hoping it doesn't fall through.

I get the hair thing though.  I had mine trimmed a week or two before the wedding and it was long so I could put it up.  I loathe it now.  I don't trust any of the local places here so I have to wait 3 weeks until I'm back in the states.  I look terrible with short hair but I'm so sick of the weight and thickness that I'm going to chop it all off.  DH is going to maaaaaad, haha.

  • Aw.  We had a calendar of birthdays at my last job and they put my name up on there when I got hired.  In between there were like  birthdays and everyone got a card and a small gift.  Me?  Nothing.  This is how my birthdays always go, lol!
