Melko, have you heard of this thing they're doing in Miami? It's terrible. They're tying student grades to teacher performance and you can loose your job if your students don't do well on the standardized exams. And they're eliminating tenure.
1/4 of the teachers skipped school today to protest. It's terrible the way they're treating teachers.

ughh. i heard something similar, but i wasnt sure where it was. we're having a really tough time right now because the students just dont care. they dont try, and then it looks bad on the teachers. they dont do their homework, and they dont study, and they come in everyday forgetting the stuff we've already done and say "ahh i dont know this!!!" i have to practically force them to take out their notes to remind themselves. ughh.
our students almost staged a walk out to protest the 80 teacher cuts..but then realized it would look as if they didnt want to be in class with us.
i actually dont believe in tenure..sure it would be nice to really have job security...but too many teachers just give up.

I hate students like that. It was so frustrating to watch them when I was in HS. They would always seat me next to the slacker kids and hope some of my paying attention would rub off on him.
In 7th grade science I bribed a kid with candy to get him to leave me alone and do his work. It worked!
I've only ever see one teacher slack off because of tenure. I had him for English. We.did.nothing. But when they made the schedules they only ever put the good students with him, all the slacker ones got the tough English teacher.

The play those Sonic commercials up north and they make me so jealous because they don't have Sonic up north. Well, I finally get to go to one in Miami. I'm beyond excited to eat something disgusting.

the students are mostly pissed off because of the teachers like that....at first, you would think that the students would like it..b.ut they really hate teachers like that...and they are upset that those are the teachers theyre going to be left with..
they finally put the "sonic coming soon" sign up in my town! all of my students want to get jobs there haha...maybe that will make me think twice before going? haha

OK I couldn't tell if you were saying students were pissed at the lazy teachers or the non lazy ones. HS students are pissy in general, though.
She's playing with a cardboard tube and having the time of her life. I love puppies... but then they grow into dogs.
Kind of like how babies grow into people that want tuition money from you, lol.
