He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not - with the girl from Amelie. It's really good, and trust me, it's NOT what you think it is. There's a huge twist - I don't want to say what it is.?

The Straight Story - it's a G rated movie directed by David Lynch, so yeah. Really good, really touching, and very different. Based on a true story about a man who drove something like 400 miles on his lawnmower. I know, it sounds weird, but it's good.?

Millions - about a little boy who finds a duffel bag full of money and has to spend it all in 10 days before the currency switches over. Sooo sweet and cute.

The Battle of Algiers - a political movie about the Algerian resistance during the French occupation. It's absolutely fascinating and has a LOT of parallels to contemporary situations.

?The Valet - a French movie about a billionaire who gets caught by a photographer with his supermodel mistress, so he tries to convince his wife that she was actually with the OTHER guy in the picture, a valet and poor schlub who just happened to be walking by. Then he pays the valet, who just got dumped by HIS girlfriend, to pretend the supermodel is his girlfriend. It's really, really funny.?
I haven't read the other replies yet, but we just watched The Kingdom, and it was really, really good.?
Also loved Juno (though I think I was the last person on the planet to see it).
Californication Season 1 was fabulous.?

"When We Left Earth" is an awesome documentary about the development of the space program. It is really amazing if you are into that!
