We have a DVR now, so we hardly ever watch shows when they're actually on. Even if we're home at the right time, we'll wait 20 minutes to start it so we can fast forward through the commercials. Monday night television in particular is like religion for us. Chuck, HIMYM, Big Bang...

oooh H and I bought Big Bang seasons 1 and 2 last week and finally caught up everything we had missed the past 2 years. I am now officially in love with that show. cracks.me.up.

You're more exciting than us... at least you're in the same apartment as each other! DH has been working so hard I feel like I haven't seen him in a week. His company just merged with a larger company and he spent all weekend at work for the changeover and has been home super late every night.

Hi everyone! Just got back from the store. I have to make DH some granola bars for the week then I'll be back. It's raining here. First time since we moved in and evidently it means it floods. We had to take our shoes off and wade through the water to the front door. Gross.

you make the granola bars?? recipe please if you dont mind? DH wants to start making them with the maple syrup as the "glue"...dont know if thats how it works, but i'd love to try!

Ugh. Sorry to hear about the flood, Panda. That sucks.

The poor thing has been really sick for the last week, too, so it's just torture that he's been forced to work so much. But I should get my husband back soon. I figure he should be back to semi-normal hours by the weekend.

DH is usually a HUGE baby when he's sick, but he's always so appreciative when I take care of him. He tells me he loves me pretty often on a good day, but when he's not feeling well he's the most adoring husband ever. I secretly love it. Stick out tongue

In other news, DH brought me home flowers today for no apparent reason, and he bought me an espresso machine so I can start making my own lattes instead of paying $3.50 a day for them. I'm so excited to use it tomorrow morning!

omg I love love love expresso drinks! I make coffee everyday at home, but when i really want to treat myself, I go for a vanilla nonfat latte...or a caramel nonfat latte mmm

Yeah, I usually can't even stand to take care of H when he's sick because all he says is "I don't feel good" or "I'm so sick" and it gets on my nerves lol. Yep - I get it, that's why I'm taking care of you.

I got a new coffee pot for the wedding that I love, but I don't make coffee on a regular basis because I require creamer and sugar, which makes it really fattening for me. So I drink plain almond milk lattes for 80 cals, and they're just sweet enough because of the almond milk I figured it out one time and my normal cup of coffee was like 200 cals after the creamer and sugar...gah! I'm trying to lose weight and turns out coffee was a big problem lol

It's SO true! Guys can't handle being sick, it's so funny (and usually cute). Do you think they just love being spoiled and know that we will if they're extra pathetic?

It didn't even rain that much, it was like down pours but not all day, just this evening. Instaflood.

I'll post the recipe tomorrow. I think it would be easy to adapt for maple syrup.
