Mine is an LV. And a wallet to match. I love them both and am about to ebay them so I can get a new model. I've had mine almost 3 years.
But see this totally works with handbags. The price range on here is from $20 to $3000 (and AshlyM's mystery price
). So your handbag totally gets to count!
Wedding rings skew things, though. (I hope I'm not offending anyone with this, but) I think most wedding rings average over $500, and in many cases add thousands to the total. The jewelry number in the article is $500, which definitely does not sound like it's including wedding rings.

ETA: I just read thruogh the thread and saw it should include wedding/engagement rings... that takes me up a lot... between 8-10k.

Mine is my Birkin because I never switched it out after I used it to travel the other weekend. As day to day bags go, TX-Bride has me beat by a lot! My most expensive "everyday" bag was $1500ish.
I've recently become a Cole Haan fan. They make very nice leather handbags at a good price. The only downside is that they can get really heavy.
I'll check out Mulberry. I also really like Tod's. I'm a preppy at heart, I think.
