Shred Days 11-20

Day 11, level 2: check! I like this level much better than level 1. I feel like I get a better whole body workout, and not so much individual muscles.

  • I'm tired of scrolling down and searching for the thread so I'll hijack this one:

    Day 9 and 10 done.  Did them back to back with a 15 minute break in the middle.  Skipped the warm up for the second one and it went by so much faster!  And it felt better than the first time around!

    DH says my muscles are feeling better and I look better, but I still haven't lost any lbs.  Still, that's encouraging!   Level 2 tomorrow!

    hmm i'm not sure how I like level 2 so far. I feel like a lot of the moves are really awkward..but I might just have to get used to it. my legs are really tired though, and I haven't sweat this bad in a while. It was rolling down my face!

  • Day 12: Complete!!

     

    OMG I DONT LIKE THIS LEVEL YET!

    it didnt hurt this morning, which made me question how hard i did it yesterday...so i tried harder today...we'll see.

  • Level 2 Day 12: check!

    Yeah I wasn't sore either today, but I know I worked hard yesterday, so I just did my best today. I am noticing that my shins and knees are hurting and I don't know if it's the new level or if its because I'm running more. I think it's all the squats and lunges...blah.

     

  • Day 11, level 2, done.  I don't like it at all, I can't wait for these ten days to be up.  That plank stuff makes me dizzy/headachey and that's like half the workout.  And I have no balance.  End whine.

     OH PS: I read online that you're not supposed to be sore when you start this level because you muscles are used to it from the first level.  Makes sense.

  • I figured that I wasn't as sore because my body was being worked, but I guess that in my mind, I translated changing up the levels to struggling/pain (good pain!)

    ...day 13: complete!

    it's definitely getting easier, and it makes me much happier to know that in this level, when she says "a couple more" it really is two.

    PS..Panda: I'm really proud of you for doing two days in one with a 15 minute break. That's totally awesome considering that you couldnt make it through one the first day!

    Thank you!  I've never worked out before in my life, so having stuck with this this long is a big accomplishment for me.  DH seems to be liking the change, too.

    Anyway, day 12 done.  Was easier than last night, thank goodness.  Question though, the last ab move in the plank position - I don't feel it in my abs at all so halfway through I switched to some of the crunch moves from level 1.  What am I doing wrong that I don't feel that in my abs?

  • Day 13 Finished! It was hard to get motivated today because I got up and went for a longer run than usual, then DH wanted to go to the beach...all I wanted to do was call it quits for the day...but alas, I did it. 

    Panda - I am so proud of you, I'm sure you're seeing great results! 

  • Day 14, complete! I don't feel like this one is getting any easier, I had to bump down my weights today and was still struggling with the stupid v flies at the end. I seriously don't think my arms move that way.

    Ashley: I definitely know what you mean about the v flies...its a really awkward move. I also dont like the pendullum lunges.

     By the end of the workout, my quads are shot, and its really hard for me to do two sets of the plank jacks, so I sometimes switch to regular jumping jacks because my arms are so tired.

  • I don't like the pendulum lunges either.  Or whatever that other one is that goes with it.  I always forget which leg I'm supposed to be moving, which ends up with my right leg getting worked out twice as much as my left leg.

  • Day 13 done.  DH sat on the couch eating a 900 calorie burger and fries while I did it.  He said he felt fat for chowing down while I was being all active.  Haha.

  • I don't know if I'll be able to shred today...its my running day for training and I start my summer class tonight.

    I did wake up at 5:20 to run 2 miles, though, so at least I did something!

  • April Fools! I spoke too soon. Cramps went away so I just finished day 15. 
  • Day 16: Check! Now off to jump in the pool.
  • Day 15, done.  Halfway through!  And halfway through level 2, woot.  I hope there is less plank in level three.

    Some observations:

    1.  Double jump rope looks like baby birds who can't figure out how to fly.

    2.  The can-can would be a great cardio move.

    You can do it! I think I may do level 1 and 2 tomorrow just to get in a longer workout. My abs are starting to get ripped!

  • today really is my skip day. I just got back from little cuz's graduation party and am a little drunk, so I'll be doing day 17 tomorrow. We'll all be on the same page again!

  • Day 17 done.  Still hate level 2.  Today my left hip joint was cracking, I don't know what that's about, haha.

    I still dont like certain things about this workout...and I have to modify the military things because my shoulder has always popped.
