Just curious what everyone's careers/jobs are? What does HH do?
I am in transition right now; I was laid off from my job as an AutoCAD Drafter in 2008 (doing house plans, etc.), and now I've been taking classes to pursue a nursing degree.
HH is an arborist. He climbs/cuts/trims trees (Dangerous, scary work IMO).

Re: What do you do?
I am a teacher. Spent the last 5 years teaching first grade. Looking for a job a new school this year.
HH is currently a student. He is getting his degree in Environment Policy and Management. (He is my little green boy, hehe)
The technical term for my position is "Administrative Specialist II", but I'm basically a government contractor that makes sure that everyone in my division gets paid (all 120 employees). I process overtime/comp time requests, labor, security clearance stuff, HR type stuff, etc. I have a BBA in Business Management, so I'm thinking about seeing what other jobs are available within the government that would let me actually use my degree some.
HH does construction.... he either builds new houses or does remodeling/renovations.... right now he's building a bridge (random, I know.)
I'm a project expediter. I work at an HVAC/Sheet metal company and I assist the project managers and try to speed things along. I do a lot of paperwork, get permits.. I know where WAY too many of the city halls are around here haha.
HH is currently unemployed or as I call him, stay at home puppy daddy! He's been at home for about 11 months now. He's starting school this fall, not sure what he wants to go for. He was thinking elementary teacher, but we'll see how he feels when he gets done with his first two years
I'm a librarian at a small, private university.
HH is an addiction counselor at a residential treatment facility for adjudicated teen males.
Oooh sounds fancy! Is that something that SOUNDS fancy but is actually not at all fancy? Or is it actually fancy?
When I was getting my bachelor's, I worked in the Architecture library as an assistant & loved it!

My title is Sales & Marketing Coordinator. I work for on online travel company making sure that our promotions are selling I also take care of loading the promotions onto the website.
HH is a UPS Driver! Or as he likes to refer to himself brown santa everyone loves when he comes to your door!!!
haha well, when I first started doing this back in 2006 I thought it was the coolest thing EVER. but it's totally lost it's appeal for me now! I basically sit at a desk all day and make phone calls. not that cool.
I'm in Human Resources. My title is HR Process Manager. I'm not sure if that sounds snooty or boring - probably both!
HH is a full time student working toward an education degree. He wants to be a history teacher but will get an additional certification in elementary ed so he can get a job doing that if he can't get a JHS or HS history position.
I currently work for a Dialysis company in their business office and I make sure all the templates and coding are correct for our claims as well as updating 9 medicaid states rates.
I am also going to school online for Health care management and will be done next April.
HH currently is self-employed and owns a small moving company as well as being a partner in a business videos company and telemarketing.
My title is Support Specialist...which tells you nothing about what I do :- I'm one of three Accounts Receivable people that manages the funds and the billing for a statewide mental health company.
My DH is a hero everyday working for our local EMS as a Paramedic. On his days off, he's a construction man (what he did before he got his Paramedic certification) that builds/remodels. He also has a small lawn care business that he runs as well as working for the local fire department as a firefighter. Needless to say, he's a busy man!
I'm taking the GRE next friday so I can apply to grad school to be an FNP!! Congrats Cherri!
I'm an adult oncology nurse, we treat luekemia and lymphoma. hopefully getting into grad school for the spring to be an NP. HH is a property accountant.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
HH and I are both in Marketing. He was laid off after the wedding but he is looking to sty in Marketing or move to Writing/book publishing.
I have tons of friends in nursing and, despite the horrible schedules, they love it. My Aunt is actually an RN and recently moved up to being a case manager. Not sure exactly what it is, but she likes it much better because the hours are regular and she can even work from home sometimes...

Holy crap! Does he ever come home!?
I'm an RN and work on an oncology floor. I absolutely love my job!! It can be very sad, but it's so rewarding at the same time!! Nursing school was so hard but work the work.
HH is a licensed plumber. He works for a company right now, but he wants to try and go on his own at some point. It makes me really nervous.
I am Pastry Chef (pretty self explanitory, I think). You can see some pics of my custom cakes on Facebook. I love that part of my job but I hate the coporate job that I currently hold. I was laid off from Hilton a little over a year ago and grabbed up a baking/catering job about 3 months later. I've been there for over a year now and I'm just exhausted lately. The family is about to start on a new business venture. I will be Executive Chef while still doing my baking business on the side.
DH is the merchandise manager for one of the J.Crew stores in our area. I worked for the company for 6 years and coaxed him over from Banana Republic after 2 or 3 years. He works at the second highest volume store in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
The one thing I DO love about my job is I work Mon-Fri 6:30am-3:00pm. No nights, no weekends. But DH's schedule changes weekly and when they have a new collection, he works until 2am. So sometimes it really sucks. We both want to get out but know that we should appreciate that we even have jobs. (Esp since I've already been laid off once)
I just finished my masters in teaching, and I am looking for a job as an English teacher. Hopefully I find a contract position for next year.
DH is a national admissions representative for a national brand of private colleges.
I just started nursing school and it already seems like hard work! Two years of hard work is worth it though.
DH is also a student, going for Business Administration with a focus in Sports managment.
I am a receptionist (otherwise known as the "do everything in the office" girl" at a concrete cutting company.
DH works warehouse for a snow plow, truck upfitting company. We are both really going nowhere and are starting to slowly look for new jobs so we can move to MA!
proud pagan
So, are you gonna tell your kids that they are the milk man's babies? *giggle*
What does a modern-day milkman do anyway? All I can ever think of is in the 50s when a milk man came to your door and took the old bottles and left new ones!
::My Married Blog!::
I am a police dispatcher for the local Sheriff's dept and DH is a Deputy for the same dept...that is how we met...=)
