How long are you waiting TTC?
Ok, with BellaSposa's thread the other day about now that we are all married, it seems like a lot of you ladies are going to TTC right away. I know we are all at different places in our lives, but was just curious how soon you all want kids (assuming you want kids). Are we the only ones who want to wait a few years before trying?
Re: How long are you waiting TTC?
We will wait at least one year. In our premarital counseling, our counselor suggested that, even though we lived together prior to marriage, we should take at least a year to enjoy each other and then talk kids. He said that couples that have kids w/in the first year of marriage are 60% more prone to divorce. (Disclaimer: I'm not saying any of you would be in that 60%, he was speaking from experience of working with couples). He said it's the most difficult adjustment for a marriage.
Plus, we realize how big of a life change that is, and we want to be selfish for our first year.
Finally...we are Mr. & Mrs.!!! WooHoo!!!

allergic- hehe
So it may not be the popular opinion, but we want more than 1- FI says 3, I say HA!- we'll see. As I said before, I'm no spring chicken, so we are going the fairly immediate route. Not that I have any control, but I have 3 nephews, and when I was dancing with my dad at the wedding he said it was time to add a little girl to the mix.

We will be waiting. We have full custody of DH's 2 girls. 11 and 12 year old girls are not easy...does not make me want to run out and be with baby. Plus I need to have ankle surgery, which is 4 more months off of work...just got a promtion right before the wedding and want to work for awhile before surgery and baby. Some days after dealing with the raging hormones and attitudes I say no kids - other days I say the opposite.
No idea... we first wanted to wait a year, now its looking more like 2 or 3 years. We will see how it goes.
Definitely want kids, but we are NOT even close to ready yet. Plus DH already has a 7 year old. And being around her, makes me realize how im just not ready for our own. Love her to death, and she is the easiest child EVER, but I just want us to enjoy US for a nice long while.

Apparently, our photog and everyone else around us assumes that it will be within this next year.
Realistically, we would like to wait until our one year anniversary or after.

He wants to now, and I don't. It's a daily discussion because apparently "I don't understand". I don't know it's a mix of a few things. I wanna it to be just us for a while, I just lost a bunch of weight and I want it to stay that way for a while, and for me 22 is just too young. Not bashing anyone that did have a baby young, but it's not for me yet. I want to wait about 3 years.

^ this! If it happens, it happens!!!!
LOL "spring chickens"
We'll probably wait a year or two. DH is turning 30 this year, so we don't want to wait too long, but we'd like some time to buy a house, settle in and enjoy being married first.
