How's everybody holding up against the heat?

For less then ten cents a day, you can feed a hungry child.
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
It is cloudy and rainy here with a predicted high of 66.

It's also surprisingly cooler here than up North and for that I am thankful.
All I want to do is eat this morning...In the past hour I've had a bowl of jambalya, a bagel, and an apple. I'm leaving for lunch in 10 minutes and I'm counting down the minutes.

Man, it's hot. At least my office is cool. A friend on fb said yesterday that her office has turned up the temp in her office in an effort to conserve energy, which sounds kind of unpleasant in the middle of a heat wave.
I just called dc to see how Miles is doing and they were like, "oh, he's been good so far today. He's at the show right now" Apparently they are having a puppet show for the kids. Rough life.
I'm enjoying this bizarro weather and wearing two t-shirts and a jacket! In July!
Things have been weird with my mom lately and I just had a kind of fight with her on the phone. I think she's lonely or bored but she is being so freaking annoying.
The nerve!

85 at 7 am. Good times! Can we get a thunderstorm please?
My building is doing the same thing in the afternoon: perimeter lights off, lowering air conditioning. I'm guessing ConEd or the power authority or whatever is worried about overloading and rolling brownouts. Good times! A friend who works for a non-profit was sent home yesterday because her buildings AC went out.
Mucho likes purple nails and purple cupcakes
Well thanks Christin. Now I want chicken and biscuits. Or biscuits and sausage gravy.
For less then ten cents a day, you can feed a hungry child.
My office is nice and cool, but earlier I walked about a half mile to an arbitration hearing, and back, and nearly melted. Now I have to run up to court.
But I know I put deodorant on this morning because when I left F told me I smelled nice.
Or Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets and a chicken sandwich with cheese. Thanks, Jerks.

Wait, what?
It actually hit me after I posted that you and the friend I mentioned work at the same place. This weather reminds me of the 2003 blackout. Fun times.
We lost power last night at 10pm so I am surprised I haven't melted. Lucy was scared of the total darkness apparently and insisted on being in bed with me, even though she has been spending most of her sleep time in her own bed.
I am currently waiting confirmation from my H that power is indeed back on. He was going home to check.
I had a dr appointment yesterday and got to see the babies. They are both head up and facing each other. They are also fist fighting. I have rowdy ones on my hands.
It's so cold in my office, I have my little heater on. I feel like a little spoiled brat. I never know what to wear on hotter than hell days. My train to work is absolutely frigid, as is my office. I'm really only outside for about 15 minutes a day...maybe a half hour.
I'm wearing pantalones. And a short sleeve shirt.
oh no aliza!
it is only 80 here so far, usually it is at least 90-95 by now. but the humidity is still like walking through soup.
Damn pregnant people talking about food. It's only 8:30 and I'm already craving lunch. JERKS!
Aliza, that sucks. I am an expert on strep throat since I had it so often growing up. I've found that if you eat something super duper hot (in temperature) feels the best. It's like the pain from swallowing molten food cancels out the pins and needles sensation you get when you swallow while having strep throat.
