Where did you find your flat-panel TV stands? We're finally getting my much coveted flatscreen soon, but I am having the hardest time finding something nice/affordable. It needs to be black and able to fit a 47" TV.

Re: TV stands
We got ours at Ikea. We had a hard time finding a good quality one that wasn't a full-on piece of furniture (like a huge oak entertainment wall). They have a lot of good, dark colored options.
You can also wall mount it and just put a media center underneath it. That's what we would do if we weren't renters.

I haz no Ikea, Leigha!
I'm going to check out our local furniture store (we're also bed shopping this weekend), but I don't think they have a huge selection of stands there. :-/
I'm getting so anxious it may have to live on my floor. haha

YAY for the flat screen! finally
We have this one from Pottery Barn and it scars and dents terribly. Don't recommend it at all, although I love the storage aspect of it. It really does double duty for us in that way.

When we bought our tv from Best Buy, they gave us a complimentary TV Stand -
Side note - No Ikea? I can walk to Ikea - you and your hubs should take a weekend trip to Philly!
we bought this one on sale at ikea a year ago or 2... I really like it and it holds everything nicely. Our 52" tv fits on top and leaves a couple of inches on either side so I think its proportioned well. I think it only cost us around $200.

We bought our tv stand at Best Buy. They have a pretty good selection online and in the store, and they were really good about knowing which stands were big enough for our 46" tv
Here's a link to ours:

Yours are all nice!
What do you think about this? I could get 10% off with one of my Lowes coupons:

ETA: In reading the specifications it suggests for TVs 32-42.

I'm drooling over everyone's TV stands! Our current TV stand is a crappy 1-shelf chip board stand (a garage sale find given to us by K's parents) only slightly nicer than this: http://www.nccfurniture.com/tfcc_resources/items/small/1217986166128.jpg. I despise the fact that we have a nice new flat screen TV sitting on a piece of junk.
Some day we will redo the living room... Some day...
I like that one from lowes.
I've got beef with my tv stand. It looks too crowded - so I would advise you to figure out ahead of time what you plan on housing in your stand.
For example - the TV hangs. Then we have the cable box, and the receiver, and a speaker, and a Wii, and a PS3. We have seperate storage for our DVD's. I'll try to take a picture tonight - but it drives me nuts.
We went with the full on entertainment center:
I like that one from Lowe's.
This is very similar to our stand. http://www2.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=57087&CatID=57883&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=165aefe&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=EXTERNAL|57881&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=29&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=external|57881|57883

oh megs, you need to upgrade that! :-/
I would love a full on entertainment center or the kind that has matching bookend shelves. I just can't seem to find anything I really like that's not over $300. Eff.

Do you have a Big Lots near you? I know my friend bought her tv stand there and said it had all the matching stuff with it. It is really nice Broyhill, and I am sure it was less than $300. It might be worth checking out.

One of my friends just got a Pottery Barn TV stand for cheap on craigslist, so that's certainly doable. I also like the idea of repurposing other vintage furniture--you could use a sturdy dresser, bureau, or a kitchen china hutch as a TV stand.
I like this from Decorating Obsessed:

I like this one. It has the matching bookcases, but it is more than $300.

steph, we must totally read the same blogs. I saw that stand and SCOURED her blog looking for the source - believe it came from a chain we don't have here. That's exactly what I want though.
I'm about to throw my hands up. I can't find anything.
Maybe I should just mount it to my wall.

HA! I bet we do read the same blogs--I love the D&R girls' blogs.
I love Pewter and Sage's (Mrs. Paz) entertainment center (from JCP):
But here's a post on her parents' house, and they have something like what you want:
http://pewterandsage.blogspot.com/2009/07/real-rooms-casual-elegance.html
Both are gorgeous, especially the parents' console. OMG.
Do you think I *could* feasibly do a standard console? Would I have issues with placing my DVR and DVD players?
This would look pretty lovely.

I like it a lot. Would it put your TV at the right height?
The bottom shelves look a little narrow, but if they're wide enough, I would put the DVR and DVD player down there and make a hole in the backboard. Then run the cords behind the unit up to your TV on top. If the whole thing feels unstable, use L-brackets to anchor it to the wall (a la YHL with their office/playroom bookshelf).
The best thing is, with drawers, you can store remotes and DVDs (which is what is in our drawers of our entertainment center).
Here's the same thing on Amazon for less for some reason:

I really like having it higher as well. Ours is about waist-high, and you look straight on to it from the couch rather than looking down.
I like that Mamie but I'm not sure where you would put everything. You may have to add more shelves since the bottom shelves are probably too tall to put a cable box etc in without it looking funny.
I love that one from Pewter and Sage but it doesnt seem super practical. If you are going the regular furniture route, make sure you find something with open space or a glass door cabinent so that your remotes will work. I thought I was brilliant and cleaned out the armoire in our bedroom to put the cable box in it then realized we would have to leave the door open all the time if we wanted to change the channel. Fail - its now back on top of the armoire annoying me.
