What kind of posts do you avoid opening? Ones by a particular poster, in regards to a particular subject, has a vague or leading subject line, etc.?
Which posts do you stop re-opening?

Re: Which posts do you skip?
I skip anything related to a TV show I don't watch (The Bachelorette, Big Brother, whatever). I stop opening posts once I've determined they will continue to talk about decor/renovation. Not that that stuff is bad, I just can't get excited about it since we rent.
I often skip or stop opening posts if the last post is from EAB or J&J.
The hair grows in thick where the horn used to be.
posts about tv shows i don't watch generally.
but, if i have been gone a while, i often prioritize posts by people i am closer to/like more first so sometimes i don't get to others.
i only stop reopening if its something i am not interested in.
Totally depends on how bored I am. Some days, I will keep going back even if I have no clue what anybody is talking about. Some days, I have to select based on topic/poster.
I tend to avoid shows/books/movies that I don't know (but even there - if I am bored enough, I will read those).
Winged, that new pic has totally pushed Ryker to the top of my "cutest under 1" list. That is the sweetest picture ever.
tv shows I don't watch
posts that I think are really people specific. (for example I missed the buddha sig pic discussion since it was in the thanks cali post)
posts that discuss the bump or parenting boards

posts with less than 10 replies
subject lines that don't sound fun
subject lines that include DWTS, SYTYCD, AI, Bachelorette, Biggest Loser
one person directly paging another
Help me decide what to make for dinner posts or Plan my party, etc.
"random stuff goes here" type posts unless they're over like 30 responses, so I think there might be drama.
Any posts that references a poster's family member ("My uncle is in the hospital" ....yeeeeah, no.)
95% of "Question about X" posts
Any post asking where Groomz is. LIKE I CARE.
Good example: Cali's steam mop post. I haven't opened it yet because I don't know what steam mops are and I don't care to learn. But now I see there are 16 replies and a red star. So did Cali post a question about steam mops and then Bethie responded, "Oh Star uses steam mops, here's a picture of her from FB holding one"? I feel like with 16 replies, there's a chance there's something good in there I'm missing, so I will look.

No wonder you abandoned us.
I send you Star stuff on email because people here are still friends with her!
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
WHAT!?!? no secret emails! secrets don't keep friends!

so do you open posts started by these people? do you not like them or just find them boring?
Like most, I don't open posts regarding shows I don't watch (even though I have NOCD, I have no issue skipping them).
I open posts paging specific people but tend to not re-open them depending on the subject. Most I re-open out of habit, but if it's nailing down the details of two people meeting up somewhere or something, I usually stop unbolding it.
I skip probably 90% of the Kindle posts because I am a Kindle-less loser.
I stop re-opening a post if it shifts into baby discussions, but it has to be nothing but baby talk and it has to be a subject I don't feel I benefit from (like how often someone pumps or something). That stuff will be interesting to me when I have a kid, but right now it's more nitty gritty than holds my attention.
I won't open a post that's been long dead and the last poster is EAB or Irish.

That's right, you should apologize! Everything I talk about is interesting!

Hmm. That reminds me. I was downtown a couple of weeks ago and saw a girl with a huge pinup girl tattoo on her arm and thought of Star. It wasn't nearly as spectacular as hers was, though.
11/11/11 = 5 years. Woah!
I didn't even think I was around enough to be boring.
I don't read much anymore except things that interest me (Food, TV shows, Specific baby posts). I almost never read the long posts cause they tend to go into stuff I don't really know about anymore. I do regret not having knot OCD anymore because sometimes I can't find things or don't know what people are referencing in other posts. Overall, I just wish I had more time to visit.
I am noting the irony in both Aliza and I posting in this post.
I am not on here enough to keep up so I go to the posts that seem most interesting to me or that have a high number of posts.

Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.
Dawg is good people. I want to hear what you have to say lady.
I stop opening the super baby/bump posts. Like 60 posts of 'APers on the bump are crazy/self righteous/BSC' We do that at least once a week.I
I often skip recipe posts. I know I'm guilty of late-post-killing too sometimes.
I would have answered earlier, but I usually skip Cali's posts.
Yeah, TV shows are pretty much the only ones I outright skip. And of course once I decide it's a topic I don't care about I stop checking. As far as posters, I check the ones from people I like first, but there are very few people who I just don't care enough to read, other than Irish.
The nerve!

Skip: recipes, cleaning, gardening, posts to specific people unless it's someone whom hasn't been around in a long time, and books I never plan on reading.
Open: I mostly just open confessions, C&P's, vents/randoms, or newsworthy/topical/entertainment stuff. Or if it's late at night and can't sleep, I'll open everything.
