Good Morning!

I'm kinda dragging today, so I wore my new bright yellow short-sleeved cardi from Target (clearance rack for $4!) to brighten my day. So far so good!

Re: Good Morning!

  • Good morning! I'm very tired. My head feels better after my ER visit yesterday, though.
  • ::drags self into post:: Morning.
  • Morning. Sorry you had to make an ER visit Trish. I loathe those.

I was very productive last night. Booked a hotel room for our cruise so we can drive down the day before and not risk being late to board and get a good spot in the parking deck. Cool

  • good morning!

    i need a vacaaaation, ugh...

  • Morning!

I'm super excited about today's Groupon!

  • Morning! H bought surprised me with tickets to see Planet Earth at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on Friday with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra!

DH mentioned this to me and he's bummed b/c he has some other special surprise planned and apparently it's one of those that we can't make both work. It sounds really cool!

  • Good Morning.  As the date approaches (July 31) I'm dreading the second "ceremony" my MIL has planned in their hometown more and more.  uggghhhh...I already did the wedding thing, why do I have to do it again?
  • Good morning. I saw the podiatrist and good news - no boot unless I feel I need it now. Somewhat good news, the MRI showed "benign bone islands" in my foot that my pod. isn't concerned about. However, when I told him about my suspicions of it being related to the "bone lesions" found on my spine and ribs, he did become concerned and even called my PCP about getting that bone scan the ER doc was insistent upon. Apparently my PCP had just signed the orders for it today, so I should be hearing from them or the imaging place soon. I'm trying hard not to be too worried yet, but the "OMG what if it's cancer" is in the back of my mind. Thanks a lot, Google.

Anybody ever have a bone scan done?

Trish, I really hope the docs can find a solution for your headaches.

    Kat, how exciting!

No, never had any reason to bone scan, but from what I understand its pretty non-invasive, but boring - a hurry up and wait kind of test.

    Good luck with it!

I saw it, thought of you, and also thought, "what the heck?! Where was this Friday?!"

  • Mornin'

I've been lurking for about a week or so, but finally throwing my hat into the ring.

Don't worry, I'm working on it.
    Get it on!
  • Morning kids, sorry about all the health issues... hope everyone feels better soon.

The ER is a terrible place, it is so stressful to just work there :p It is the slowest early in the morning if you have any say in when you go.

Yep! I really like the Smyrna ER. They use InquickER, which allows you to reserve a time to come in.

  • Good morning!  I'm exhausted too but I guess that's to be expected when moving.  I hope everyone has a fabulous Thursday!!!

    This. WTF?

Monster in law planned an entire ceremony and reception (HER WAY) with her family (which were invited to the wedding I planned and paid for but never RSVP'd or showed up) and bought us plane tickets without even asking us.  She says we need to have a ceremony in "her church" with "her family" to make our marriage legit.  Uh...hello lady.  It doesn't exactly work like that.

  • Whoa.... just Whoa... You are a bigger person than me for putting up with that at all.

I'm awful... I'd say that at the last min that we couldn't make it... some local "emergency" came up... Surprise

In all seriousness though, she's off her rocker! I hope she doesn't try to insist that you and your H sleep in seperate rooms until after her ceremony.

Ooohh! Tell her that you'll need a second HM too! Since she's all about a second ceremony! Again, I know I'm awful, thinking such things.

SAY WHAT??? She doesn't get to do that without your consent. What does your H say? If yuo have to go through with it, I at least hope you get lots of presents and $$!

can we say psyyyychooooo?! Please tell me she's not expecting you to buy another dress and stuff. It would feel like such a sham to do it twice. Wow. Just wow. I think I'd be insisting on a second honeymoon as well :) You'll need a vacation after dealing with that!

This. There is no way in hell I'd step foot on that plane. You had a wedding, she didn't like it. Tough! What does your DH think?

Holy Crap, This! I can't believe that she just dumped all of this on you guys and expected you to just go along with it.  At least you two will be getting another load of wedding gifts! It's a good thing you two are in a different state, otherwise she'd probably be planning/observing your TTC measures to make sure she knew you two were doing it right!

  • DH is on the same page as me: she's nuts.  But it's SO much easier to just appease her than it is to argue.  She wanted me to wear my wedding gown again, or at least she ASSUMED I would wear my wedding gown again, but I told her my parents had it preserved (lie!) and that I'll be wearing something appropriate to wear to someone else's wedding since this one couldn't possibly be my wedding because I'm already married.  (Ok, that's what I wanted to say...but really I just told her I'd be wearing a sundress).  I'm just trying to look at it as a free trip home and some more gifts and cake.  If I let myself think too long and hard about anything she does, I'd go crazy.  The thing is: I knew all of this when I married him.  She's been nutty from day one, seriously.  So I take it all with a grain of salt and pick my battles.  Doesn't mean, though, that I can't dread doing it :)

I may be the lone biotch here, but I really think that you should have refused. The reason? You need to create some boundaries with this woman, starting from the very beginning. She needs to understand that you two will not be dancing to her tune, you are adults and YOU will decide what you want to do. If you don't, wait until you have kids, then your nightmare will really begin.

I agree. Appeasing her only encourages her behavior when no one stands up to her. Sure, the first time, the fall out will suck, but you'll secretly feel good about it and she'll know you aren't on her schedule. Sure, she's nuts, but you and your husband should have spoken up.

Yeah.  We see that and definitely feel the same way.  It's just such a hard situation though when we actually have to "act" upon it instead of just talking about it.  We've at least already set the ground rules for the holidays and with us now living so far away, we're hoping to distance ourselves from her.  You're not the lone Biotch.  If I had the balls, I'd just tell her off and be done with it, but it's so much easier said than done.
