     What the HELL is that???

    Agreed! Holy cow!

We had a millipede-type thing in the kitchen a few weeks ago. I went upstairs, told Matt I was going to be a girl, and that he would have to deal with it. Of course he couldn't see the thing under the cupboard overhang and then it disappeared.

Aaaah! I would've freaked too! We had one of these run through our bedroom the other night. Apparently I made some kind of ghostly noise when I saw it according to DH. Thank goodness we got our bed frame and are off the floor now!

I can't see the picture, so I'm just going to imagine that from everyone's reaction to it, that it has horns, mandibles, and sharp talons.

    Pretty much.

  • It's a house centipede. DH says they're harmless just fast. Apparently the wormy looking millipedes are the ones that sting. Either way, I'm not letting that thing live in my apt. DH took care of it. I hope I never see one again.

  • Ok, I just googled house centipede.  We get those in our house every now and then.  Usually in the bathrooms.  According to wikipedia, they're good for killing spiders, termites, cockroaches, ants, etc, so they're actually good bugs, but I still don't like them in my house.

  • I seriously just had to put my feet up on the coffee table after reading about all the bugs because now I think that all those gross bugs are going to crawl on my leg! Ew!!

Junebugs get IN your ear???  Ick!

DH said the same thing. I'd rather have the spider in the corner of the bathroom, than that thing racing around the house! Yuck!

EXACTLY!!!  At least the spider in the corner isn't going to stealthily run across your foot with it's millions of tiny legs as you're sitting down to pee or something!!!

I am so thankful that we don't have bugs in my house!!  (*knock on wood*)

Becky, when I was budget travelling in Australia, we were told to sleep with earplugs or cotton balls in our ears because bugs would burrow in our ears while we were sleeping.  When I think back, I don't know how I ever fell asleep!

  • Ummm... Ok. So I have the SERIOUS hee-bee-jee-bees!!!!! I feel like bugs are crawling all over me now. BLEH!!!

PS... the house centipede?!?! There's no way in hell I would be sleeping after that!  We saw a few centipedes on our veranda in Santorini.  When we saw the first one I literally jumped out of the spa, knocked over and broke our lantern and curled up on the ledge like a 5 year old.  DH of course just laughed.

Actual Photo BTW!!! It was about 6 inches long. Gag.

But he wasn't laughing when there was one crawling up the wall over our bed the next night (it was just a baby though).  Every night I made him strip the bed to make sure there weren't any under the covers!

Also, being in the south, we get some serious creepy crawlers!
