Stealing a Stolen Post - What Would You Do

Re: Stealing a Stolen Post - What Would You Do

  • My husband and I had an incident a few months ago. Our house alarm went off at 4am, scared the shiit out of us both. I now know I am a total puss, I grabbed the puppy, the phone and hid in the bathtub. The alarm company called and told me which window it was. My H was brave enough to check it out, it turned out that one of the wires was rotting on a 2nd floor window - did this really have to come to light at 4am?? Meanwhile, I had decided to not have the police come out, but instead called my dad, who lives about a mile away. He came over rushing over, not sure what I thought he was going to do, anyway, I have since put a bat under the bed and pepper spray in the nightstand. I know it sounds silly, but I just felt so empty handed and helpless!! Oh, and my dog is a Pug, so he would probably just like and intruder to death...

  • ummm, what does "go clear the house" mean?

Does that mean that instead of sitting there with a gun in case someone enters their room with intent to do bodily harm that he goes on a shoot-em-up instead?

  • I be this person sucks to be friends with. They probably have a bunker stocked up for the apocalypse.

The first thing I do when I enter a room, ANY room is figure out my escape route if something would happen. I like to be prepared for the worst situation possible.

  • I don't look for escape routes.  Instead, I check for possible entry points for zombies and velociraptors.  They will never sneak up on me.

  • I am a total survival scenario maker.

I also take a page from the mafia and hate to sit with my back to the door of anything.

  • I usually look for food.

  • Do you think the "clear the house" couple does practice runs?  I feel like they do, probably while wearing commando outfits.

I've done this in hotels ever since I saw a today show segment about how no one knows where the hell to go when there is a hotel fire.  screw you Matt Lauer.

  • do you live in a box? You've never seen a gun IRL? Have you ever been pulled over? I'm pretty sure the copper was packing heat.
