Talk me into or out of this hair color

Re: Talk me into or out of this hair color

  • I'm sure you're still taking PNV while nursing, so that could be it.  Damn.  Provide nutrients to my body or let my hair fall out.  Decisions are hard.

  • Mine started falling out en masse a week or two ago and it's still going strong. I just hope to still have some left at this point.

It's not the PNV, it's the hormones, according to my sister.

Mod, I'm glad you decided against it, I don't think that would look right on you.

I'm going to have to start doing something about grays soon. Sigh.

The hair grows in thick where the horn used to be.
  • I think red wouldlook great on you.  my stylist and I have been contemplating red (strawberry-ish) for a while, and I think we have a similar natural color--so go for it (after Pickle of course).  MAybe Pickle will be a redhead :)
  • I was born a red head.

I think my hairs started darkening when I hit puberty.

Greys are fairly easy to cover, PG.  And I'm one who thinks that if you get them as young as you are, you should get rid of them so as to not age you unneccessarily.

  • oh, and I meant to say that I think you'd look great with a red shade, EAB.

  • Thanks Tasty!  We did have the same color hair growing up.  I was born a redhead too.  I may have my stylist try a few strands underneath to see how it looks.
  • I think red is easier to keep up with than blonde. I used to do blonde w/ highlights and it always looked shatty when the roots grew in, and I didn't trust myself to do it at home and had to pay out the rear every 6 weeks at a salon. I've been doing red at home for almost 2 years now and I find my roots aren't as heinously obvious and I'm lazy so its nice not to have to make an appointment and stick to it, I can just buy a box and dye it at 3am.

I second dark red highlights on Mod, and I think Tasty can pull off most reds.

  • PDX our haircolor is sooo easy to deal with with gray. Any of the darkest brown dyes will do. Also Bumble & Bumble hair powder in black does a great job of hiding them in between dye jobs.

  • Mod, this is good information to know. I always said that when the greys start taking over (for now I can just pluck them), I will by dyeing my hair. I am to gestational diabetes vain to walk around with dark hair highlighted by grey. I just cannot do it.

I like your hairs.  I kept mine a really pretty auburn color for about 4-6 years, starting in HS, and I loved it.  What color do you use?

  • I think red is way easier to keep up than blonde. I'm thinking I'll go reddish again sometime in October.

Aw, thanks! I use clairol perfect 10 4R Auburn/Cinnamon red hot, and I leave it on for 15 minutes.
