  • I agree, it's good that Flyboat is looking for answers and recognizes his own faults.  Flyboat, I think it's great that you want to stick together and work through this.

When you ask her a question, LISTEN to her, no matter how long and seemingly unrelated her rant may be.  Trust me, it's related.  I also have a tendency to go on long diatribes when something is bothering me.  Is it the best way for a woman to communicate with her man?  No.  But it is how many women communicate.  If you need to, get out a pen and paper and write down her points.  It may seem unrelated to you but it is related in her mind and she needs you to hear it.  Don't come back with a logical response or try to "solve" her problem.  Just listen.  And when she is finally done, if you don't see how everything is related, ask.

This may also be a cheesy suggestion, but I recommend the book "Love and Respect."  It explains many of the emotional differences between men and women.  After reading it I would say that men are just as complicated as women, but in a different way.  I also recommend "For Women Only."  It's written for women to explain what we don't understand about men--and there's a lot!  Even if your wife doesn't want to read it, it would be helpful for you to read it.  It will show you just how much women don't understand about men.  We are clueless.  These two books have changed how I interact with men for the better.  There is another book "For Men Only" that is similar, but for men about women.  I haven't read it but it probably explains things in much the same way.

  • She may need to find a counselor that she can open up to.  Could you two take a small vacation somewhere without the kids to reconnect?

IDK, you seem like a d!ck.  Maybe she is "whining" because you are a selfish lover.  I don't think you are giving us the whole story here.

    Wow, what a bltch.

    Possibly.

It sounds like he is ignoring his wifes needs while wondering why his own aren't being met.  Duh!

LOL, I think that comment was directed at you.......
