Re: I blame Moo and Mad Men

  • Do it!  I actually just changed my hair color earlier this week.  It's significantly darker than ever before and I'm loving the change!

  • I bet you would be dynamite as a redhead.

  • I used to go red in high school because I wanted to be Angela Chase. lol.

  • another vote for dooo eeet!

I can't wait to get some color back into my hair and I plan on going strawberry-y-ish.  But not myself.  I've only had baaaaaad experiences with box color--due to the natural brassiness and whatnot in my hair.

  • oH ME LIKEY!

I'm on a redhead countdown, too.   Staying blonde for the wedding in which i'm wearing brown, going red two weeks later for the purple wedding,.

  • DO IT! But not Feria. Unless you're cool with maybe accidentally going pink.

  • Next time I get my hair done, I was thinking of having her do a toner so I'm more strawberry-ey, whattya think? I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to hair.

I know. I need to find a non-Feria option. I also had a pink Feria experience.

  • I think red will look great on you.  Add me to the list of people who are scared of box color.  I had a horrible experience with diy hair cut/coloring (well it was a friend), and I will now always pay someone.  I am thinking my strawberry blond/auburn will be later this fall, after the election

Nooooo! You look AMAZING in your blonde locks!

  • Thanks, Bethie! My hair seems to be getting darker as the years go by though :(

  • I use Clairol Perfect 10, shade 4R. It might be too dark for you but I used to use the 5r and 6r and they were pretty great. No problems and I've been using it coming up on 2 years now.
  • Thanks, Almond!

  • Perfect 10 won a bunch of awards for ease of use and results, too

  • So are you going to do it tonight? And post pictures?

  • I used Natural Instincts in Roasted Chestnut.  I liked the results, if it was maybe a little dark. I also like Natural Instincts for trying a new color since it only lasts 30 days.

  • No, I'm too crampy to leave the couch right now. Maybe Sunday. I also have to show you guys the wrap/scarf I made!

  • Did you have the IUD put in? I'm behind the times with news on your contraceptives.

Unless you're using the black for Halloween. Two years later I cut off the last of it.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
  • Yes! I got the Paragard this morning. Insertion was easy peasy but these cramps suck.

  • I'm going with Paraguard too! 9 more weeks till they'll put it in.

  • I'm also hopping on the IUD train.  My problem is that I don't currently have a gynecologist.  My primary care doctor has been doing my annual exams, but I think I want someone more experienced to put in an IUD.  I'm debating finding a gyno vs just going to planned parenthood.
  • I went to Planned Parenthood because I was in the same boat (no dedicated gyn) and had no problems. They don't seem to prescribe the good drugs, but I didn't need them. They didn't even care that I wasn't on my period and they were SO nice and positive and didn't try to talk me out of it because I hadn't had kids yet (which I've heard of some people encountering and I encountered when I first mentioned it to my gyn in Hartford).

  • I miss my IUD so much.  I am covered in zits.

  • Thanks Moo, that makes me feel better about PP.  Seems like that's the easiest route for me at this point!

Cali, you were on Mirena, right?

  • Yep!  Those were the best 4 1/2 years of my life.

  • My mirena is my bff.

I'll be interested to hear how ya'll liked your paraguards though. When I get this iud out and have a chillun' in a couple of years, I am debating doing paraguard after. Getting regular periods again will be annoying, but I do like the idea of going off hormones, especially as I get older.

  • Also, Cali, why did you get yours out? Getting on the baby train soon?
  • Yeah, I came up with the brilliant idea that I should get it out so I could let my body adjust and take a break from all the hormones.  BC makes me gain weight like a m0f0, so I secretly hoped that taking it out would make me drop 50 pounds that very day.  I have not magically lost weight, my skin hates me, and I still can't find my sex drive so I'm feeling all Gob-y about this.  "I've made a huge mistake."
