I don't think those are hideous. They just are what they are, flip flops trying to be fancy. I can't believe anyone would pay 60 bucks (or 30 for that matter) on flip flops. They're like 4 bucks at ON.
I think you're doing the right thing by grinning and bearing it and then putting on your nice shoes the first chance you get.
