Mine was good. We went to CT to visit BIL, SIL and baby. She's so freaking cute, Tim got tons of baby smiles and farts. And we went to that insane BBQ place, I was a little disappointed. My pulled pork was just ok, but the Bleu Balls were actually quite tasty.
Yesterday I watched a pirated feed of the Bills game, then shut it off during the 3rd quarter. Sigh.

Re: How was your weekend?
bears 2-0! woot! (but they still manage to suck somehow)
mine was good. went to the french market sat morning and got SO much good food, including honeycrisp and fresh organic spinach that I cooked with a new recipe that is DE-VINE.
get a big saute pan and put like 1/8 cup water in it and bring to boil. Throw in your bunch of spinach (de-stemmed) and let wilt for a few minutes. Then throw in like 1/3rd pkg of cream cheese (softened) and 4 teaspoons of lemon juice. salt and cook until it's mixed through and spinach is done. Sooooo good and a really unique flavor.
went to Babies r Us and picked up a few more things. We are ALL set for Pickle. My belly is swinging low but nothing else interesting going on down there.
Mucho likes purple nails and purple cupcakes
Me too! But the Bucs won and the Skins lost, so we turned out even.
Saturday was my nephews 2nd birthday and I made him this cake:
His reaction was adorable and he was all smiles....until it was time to cut it. He flipped out when his mom said "Okay, time to eat cake!" His eyes got really big and filled with tears. It was pretty cute.
Yesterday we watched football all day and I finished Mockingjay, which I HATED in comparison to the other two books. I had to force myself to finish it.
Today I'm going to maternity clothes shopping, specifically for a bathing suit, which I'm dreading. My H has a conference in Orlando this weekend and it's at a nice resort, so I'm going with to spend all my time at the pool.
"Once I got a bath bomb that, once exploded, filled the tub with confetti. Little sharp metallic pieces of confetti. The product description said nothing about confetti. Oh look, there's a tiny, sharp metallic blue star stabbing me in the labia. HOW RELAXING. " - NoisyPenguin
F was working all weekend so Saturday Ian and I went to the beach house and out to lunch with my aunt. Yesterday we went to the Newport Boat Show to visit F, and my mother came over in the afternoon.
I want to go out for a drink at lunch. Monday mornings are tough at daycare because lots of the kids are out of sorts. Ian was fine, but a few of his buddies were having meltdowns, and I stayed for about 20 minutes with another mom because one of the teachers was late.
I was off Friday and I baked cupcakes and lazed around watching the West Wing. My husband forgot to tell me that we were meeting the in-laws for lunch in Jackson on Saturday. We were supposed to do it a couple of weeks ago but they got a new dog, and had to get her settled. So MIL called when Brett was in the shower and said "it will be nice to see you tomorrow." Sure! You too! It wasn't too bad though. I just hate that I can't be normal around them without getting "the look."
Yesterday we worked in the yard and sweated our asses off. One of our friends is moving to Cleveland next week, and we went to a goodbye party for him last night. It was really fun, and nice that so many people came out for him. Brett was wasted and very annoying by the time we got home.
The nerve!

Mine was pretty good. Productive, at least. Saturday morning I worked, and we had 2 cable company technicians at our house for 3 HOURS trying to install some equipment that kept malfunctioning. In the afternoon we took Jenny for a long walk, passing by a nice little bakery that gives out dog treats. We saw The Town at night, which I thought was meh.
Yesterday we watched a bunch of football, cleaned/organized the house, cooked buffalo chicken mac & cheese, watched Mad Men, and debated whether we should do some sort of weekend getaway for our anniversary in a few weeks.

Weekend was good. I worked from home on Friday because DC closed early for Yom Kippur. Then Saturday, fasted (not fun), went to services (also not fun), ran all of the necessary weekend errands (note to self: refrain from doing the food shopping while fasting in future years), broke fast at my in-laws house (fun and delish).
Sunday was really perfect - we had gotten all of the errand stuff done on Saturday, so we were able to just enjoy the day, watch some football, play with Miles at the playground, etc. Very nice and relaxing.
Miles has gotten so brazen with the dog over the past few weeks, it's funny but a little unnerving. I wished I had my camcorder charged yesterday because Mabel and Miles were fighting over a toy for quite some time. That toy went from Miles' mouth to Mabel's and back again about 25 times.
And yes, I'm an awesome parent.
I spent part of my weekend in CO and though I didn't do anything special (except go out for margs) I had a good time visiting with friends.
Since we have hardly been home in the past 2 months, there was lots of cleaning and grocery shopping to do on Sunday. We steam cleaned carpets and did like 4 loads of laundry. So, that was exhausting but I guess I feel like I accomplished something.
11/11/11 = 5 years. Woah!

We had dinner with the in-laws Friday, went out to breakfast Saturday, shopping, and then to a bluegrass concert that was a benefit for our local children's hospital. It was a lot of fun. We ran into some of my old college friends who just moved back here from San Fran. Made me realize how different I am now than I was back then. Ah, self actualization.
Sunday we watched football and I took on the scintillating task of of organizing toys. Try to contain your jealousy. Then I made banana bread and chicken tikka masala for dinner and engaged in some drama on our local board, courtesy of Babbs. Phew.
SPILL.

There's a new poster who is in the late first trimester who calls her baby "the miracle baby" because she was told she'd never get pregnant. Got knocked up by her roommate (I guess fu*k buddy because they aren't dating) and I guess the miracle moniker rubbed Babbs (and some of the other girls on the board struggling with infertility) the wrong way so she called her out. It's not how that board rolls, so things got a little tense-not by this board's standards, but still.
Then someone else started a post about what construed a "miracle baby" and things got even more hairy. There's a lot of very sweet (and earnest) girls on that board who didn't like categorizing what kind of child is a miracle and what isn't. I felt like I might be at an anti-abortion rally if that kept up.
All in all, it's kind of awky because really, Babbs doesn't post there much so I was surprised she came out like that.

That sounds like good local drama! Honestly, when we started trying to have a baby and I reacquainted myself with what all needs to happen to get pregnant, I started thinking all babies were miracle babies.
Friday and Saturday were awesome because I got to hang out with with the Wingeds. Dagger and Babycorn were sooo cute together. I should upload the video of them flailing about in the "ball pit" at OMSI.
Sunday was not so great. At kickball, one of our friends had just pulled up to park when his little dog spied another dog across the street, leaped out the car window and got killed by another car.
He was a great little dog, somewhat of a league mascot. Everybody loved him. Everybody cried. Nobody wanted to play. His owner is a big tough dude who was totally inconsolable and blaming himself for having the window open.
The hair grows in thick where the horn used to be.
How sad.
I'm a little teary thinking of it. Poor pup and poor owner.

My weekend was great. On Friday, I watched a documentary at the art museum with this boy I really, really like. Then we went to my favorite little restaurant and had wine and ate blue cheese stuffed proscuitto wrapped figs and pizza and then went to his house and watched a couple of hilarious Always Sunny episodes and drank more wine. Awesome night.
Saturday was my birthday, and I started my new PT job. It's at one of my favorite clothing stores, and I get an awesome discount. I actually had fun helping the customers put together outfits and stuff. That night, a friend who shares my b-day was DJing at a club, so a group of us went there. I danced to some Gaga, had numerous shots bought for me and eventually had to be walked to the car and driven home by my roommate.
I spent yesterday at work and hungover.
I was a single mom this weekend because my H went on a weekend hiking trip. I spent the weekend hovering over Zach, watching him push his walker thing around, crawl everywhere and just explore. It was really awesome. And exhausting. I started looking forward to bedtime late in the afternoon, then when he went to sleep, I missed him. It was weird.
EDIT: Super sad about the puppy
That is so, so sad. I can't imagine. Poor guy.

That's great. Does he seem to be settling in better now?
