Tell me 3 Fun Facts about yourself!!

I didn't know this board existed--I mostly just lurked on the knot board, but I'm sure all the same ladies are here!  I wanted to introduce myself--and to find out more about you all!

Please indulge me and list 3 fun facts about yourself!

1.  We got chickens as a (suprise) wedding present.  My DH's nickname is Chicken, and his friends thought it would be awesome to have chickens in our back yard when we got back from the wedding.  Since then, we've doubled the flock.
2.  I alter wedding dresses as a side business.
3.  I make a mean apple pie.

  • Hiya and welcome!

Hmmm...here are the first three that come to mind...

    1) I am petrified on the ferris wheel, but I love roller coasters

    2) I'm an actor (musical theater) and it's my job, and I get paid and all that, and I sing in front of thousands of strangers all the time...but I will not karaoke in front of my friends, or sing for random people on a whim, and I hate to hear my own voice on recordings.

    3) I LOVE hosting dinner parties and cooking for friends and family.  It is one of my absolute favorite things to do, and I get really into it.  Themes, linens, new recipes, music, everything!  I'm actually planning an elegant Halloween dinner for early October, my first official dinner party since the wedding!

ZOMG HOKIE NATION! :)  Are you watching the game right now?  Aaaagh, stress!

Anyways, welcome!  Here are my 3 facts (aside from the one above, haha)

    1. I am a baking fiend.  Cupcakes, pastries, pies, cookies, you name it I bake it.

    2. I am also a running fiend.  I ran a new 5.6mi route this morning.

    3. I love making firewood.  Everything from taking an axe or chainsaw to a dead tree in the woods to using a split-mauler to make pretty logs for the fireplace.  I can't wait to move back up north and have a real fireplace again!

    1) I am a closet wanna-be scrapbooker...HELP! :)

    2) I am caught between being the rockstar and the housewife (I am a vocalist, but without a band currently...so sad)

    3) I once dove down to 110 feet off the coast of the island of Bimini, Bahamas and my mom 'pushed' me off the underwater cliff...I was scared and thought that I was going to fall...then realized that I was in water, and therefore couldn't fall! It was fantastic!

  • 1) I'm artistic and love to paint and collage.

    2.  I have a pet turtle named Elenor.  We have no idea how old she is, she could be upwards of 15...

This made me lol.  I used to work for a theatre in Philly (in the costume shop), and heard this a lot from the actors.  Despite the fact they could just open their mouth and have such a beautiful sound come out, and they treated it as something so sacred.  I thought it was so awesome that they would save something so beautiful for the stage.

  • Hey there and Welcome to the Aug 2010 Anni. board!

3 facts about myself would be:

1.) Music is my life. If I didn't have music, I would have a very unhappy life. I'm an auditory learner so I'm fantastic at memorizing every word to every song on the radio! :)

2.)  DH and I adopted a yellow lab puppy 3 weeks ago today!

3.) Panera bread is my favorite place to eat! I'm there at least once a week!

FANTASTIC list! Love love LOVE all of these talented ladies!! Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald are the two that were the backbone of my vocal studies in university! Lady Day and the Queen of Scat...amazing!

  • 1.  I'm beginning to re-decorate our apartment.  I am getting lots of ideas from different design websites and am excited to have weekend projects again!

     2.  I love making baked potato soup.  DH and I have it at least once a week.

    3.  DH and I take great pride in grocery shopping for under $100 a month.  We eat the cheapest things we can, like red beans and rice and eat a lot of cut up veggies.

Well it's true! haha  I mean, when you're on stage, you're not yourself, so it's incredibly easy to bust out with absolutely whatever is required of you. But in everyday life?  I'm not about drawing that attention to myself!  I WILL sing you happy birthday on your bday, however. :-)

It's cool you did costuming; a good costumer is a very valuable asset t a production, as is any good crew :-)  I heart all techies!

Ok, I love that I'm not the only one who is scared of the damn ferris wheel! lol  And what's even funnier, is I too wear a lot of solid colors in my wardrobe!!  Creepy twinsies! :-)

  • Oooh, this is so fun!

     1.  I am a die-hard Packers fan.  During football season, I live, eat, and breath green and gold.

    2. DH and I adopted a little stir-fry puppy about a month ago, and are very busy spoiling him with all of the attention he should have gotten during the first year and a half of his life.  He is our baby and we love him so much!

    3. I like to pretend that I could be on an HGTV show.  I am trying to slowly redecorate our new house to get rid of the nasty burgundy paint and porn star curtains that the bachelor before us left behind.  Too bad redoracting costs money, so we will be dealing with the previous owner's style for a little longer than I would like.

  • 1. I love to cook and bake! And I'm pretty good if I can say so myself :)

    3. Me and DH moved to the middle of no where in central washington for his job. I hate it here and cant wait to move back home!

Ahhhh, you're so lucky!  I lived in Jeffereson, WI for the first 13 years of my life, and all of my family lives there.  DH and I hope that we can move back to WI at some point in our lives.

  • 1. DH and I have a beta fish named Wilford Brimley after the guy on the diabetes commercials. It's what happens when you let your husband name a fish.

    2. I very rarely watched tv growing up, but now I watch The Office, 30 Rock, Community, Justified, and Mad Men religiously. I am afraid to watch even one episode of any tv shows because I get hooked so easily.

     3.  I grew up in the mountains of NC and will always be a southern girl at heart. From hospitality to sweet tea to fried okra, I love the south so much.

I worked for the costume shop at my school for 2 years in college, one summer, I got to work with a professional touring opera company - it was a lot of fun, but now I have a boring desk job, so I won't count that as one of my 3 (unless I run out of ideas).

    1) I want a ball python - I've wanted one for probably 5 years now, I have a name picked out and everything, just need to get DH on board...

    2) I consider myself incredibly UN-athletic, I am not coordinated, I am not fit, and I gain weight about 4xs as fast as I lose it.  I am a part-time Zumba instructor (and I am GOOD), and just decided I'm going to train for my second sprint triathlon next summer!  I'm crazy, I know...

    hmmmm

    3) I am a total board game geek, and I'm bringing DH along with me.  We got Forbidden Island, Pandemic, Last Night on Earth, and Polarity off our amazon.com wedding registry :) (and 3 more people gave us board games that were not on the list!)

CWU is in the tri-cities. I would love to be there! We live in a tiny town called Sunnyside. Its an hour to any major store/mall and it smells like cow poop ALL the time, where still not use to that! Its hard but its only a short term thing. DH is going to start looking of jobs back in Portland (where we are from) when he gets his year exp. as an RN  at the end of October. I hope he find something. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

  • 1. My not-so-secret wish is that DH would find a ridiculously high-paying job he loves so I could quit my job and spend all day cooking.

    2. We had to completely revise our honeymoon plans because we bought our dog instead of buying plane tickets.

    3. I have a twin brother, DH was had a twin for a few months while he was still a fetus, and his younger sisters are twins. They say it skips a generation, but it seems to me like it's a good thing we don't plan on having kids. :P
