Mine felt short and busy. First, I am very glad it's not 90 here any longer. That was for the birds. Saturday we went to a parade in our neighborhood, then to a family party. Sunday Maggie and I went to the grocery, we watched football, I went to Trader Joes, then went back to the grocery when I realized I didn't have onions for the two things I was cooking. Annoying with a capital A. Then I made marinara and soup. Tonight we are having friends over, they were my friends from college and just moved back here.

Ready to rumble.
Re: How was your weekend?
Mine improved from Friday's suckfest.
We went to see Rush Saturday night. We went to dinner at Hubbel and Hudson before and I was unimpressed.
Yesterday we went in search of an Emmitt of our very own and my H got food poisoning.
Not bad. Friday was dinner with some friends at a delicious French/Cambodian place. Saturday I baked pumpkin blondies and watched a lot of TV. Yesterday was much of the same, except instead of pumpkin blondies, I made baked mac & cheese.
It was all good until this morning when I woke up with a stuffy, achy head, sore throat, achy ears, and feverish chills.

They're pretty delicious. Bethie says to use all butterscotch chips but I did a mix of butterscotch and milk chocolate and feel like the chocolate chips cut some of the sweetness. If that makes sense.

I didn't have a baby. But I did nap, buy a breastpump, and eat a lot.
Sorry Connor is sick, Wendy! Poor lil guy.
sucky.
we went and picked up the urn for MIL. That was f'ing fun as hell. We got it home, and it just sat in the middle of the table for the longest time, while we all just stared at it.
the highlight of my weekend was that I discovered the wonderfulness that is Ulta. love it. Even N seemed to enjoy it. LOL. Bought new perfume (philosophy pure grace). And a whole bunch of makeup. And nail polish. And face masks and cleansers. Good ole fashioned retail therapy.
Went shopping Sat morning for new work clothes for Tim, had lunch at a new bar nearby, watched "Up in the Air" on HBO.
Yesterday we cleaned and watched the Bills surprisingly NOT suck it up against the Pats. They still lost, but it was a pretty close game and the offense did pretty well.

I was super impressed by fitzpatrick yesterday. he actually looked comfortable throwing the ball, unlike "i seriously need a haircut and look like i'm a wanna-be boy-bander edwards" The offense did do well, the defense is another story.

I know. I'm super nervous to play the Jets next week...
I didn't realize Edwards was also sporting the Beiber until yesterday. Horrifying.

I keep forgetting how close you are. Good luck Tasty!
Connor seems fine now, but fevers and daycare don't mix, so home we are.
Mine was good, except for a few hours yesterday afternoon (see post below) when boredom and cabin fever hit the house like a freight train.
F came home around 4:30 and we were all immediately in a better mood. I made an Indian chicken stew in the crockpot and it was just OK. I hate when crockpot meals aren't awesome: I know they require very little work, but I feel like if someone cooks for 8 hours it should knock my socks off.
Hello loverlies!
I had a really great weekend.
We went apple picking on Saturday morning. Then I ran around like crazy getting ready for our date night. Pete took me into Boston to celebrate our 5th anniversary. He took me to an incredible French restaurant and then took me to the theatre to see Wicked.
On Sunday, he took his dad to the Pats game. So, Alex and I just bummed around the house in our pjs all day. We colored, played cars, and watched some Thomas.
Winged - this Emmit? We have him for bebe #2 and I love heeeeeem!

Tasty, how are you feeling? Are you at the stage where you just want Pickle to come out already, or are you still riding the bliss train to happytown?
My weekend was good. The weather here has been seriously delightful since the Winged fambly left because Oregon is kind of a biitch like that. Friday, the H and I walked to a Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood we've been wanting to try. It was pretty much the same as any other place I've been to -- decent, but not mind blowing.
Saturday we did a whole bunch of gardening. Our friends came over and tried to teach me how to prep things for the winter. They'll be coming back to help again the first weekend in November too. But it's nice to have gotten rid of a bunch of the crap that we did (like the stupid fennel that just won't die). We BBQ'd up some lamb burgers and corn afterward.
Sunday was a token rainy day, so we basically stayed in all day long. I watched a bunch of TV and managed to never change out of my PJs.

both, really. I was REALLY holding out for an Oct baby, but at this point I would be very happy if I go now. It's hard for me to sleep/get comfortable and I have a feeling it's getting very hard for Pickle too since he/she contantly stretches and rolls like, Hey Mom, give me MOAR ROOM, PLZ. I'm also ready to just snuggle me some baby.
but all in all I still feel great and must be riding those bliss hormones. My health is VERY well (such as blood pressure, etc.) so I am just really really lucky.
That's awesome, Tasty!
I had a great weekend. On Friday night I went out to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was my first night out post-adoption, and it felt great to just be myself with my friends.
Saturday, we went fishing in the Long Island Sound on my brother's boat. M enjoyed the day, and we caught enough porgies for two meals. That night he decided he wanted to have a sleep-over in our room, and we went along with it.
Yesterday morning M sang with his class at the church's "Teacher Dedication Sunday." The rest of the day was spent grocery shopping, cooking, doing laundry, and other chores around the house.

No, a couch. We shall name it Emmitt in honor of the speederman's, even though they live in a town that obviously hates us since the weather got nice when we left.
Friday I worked and then had people over at the house for game night/ drunkiness. Saturday I worked and then went to a friends for the UFC fights. Sunday I did laundry, dishes and watched football and kicked butt w/my fantasy team. Then we went to dinner at the IL's and worked out our holiday schedule which gave me a huge headache.
Today I went to work early and am leaving at 1. DH has a dr appt at 3 and I'm dreading it. It's rainy and cold and I just want to drink cider and watch movies. Crossing my fingers for good news at the dr so we can do just that.
Tasty, how did I not realize how close you are to babytime!!! Even if Pickle comes before Oct, s/he is a Libra, and that's what counts. Believe me. I'll be vibing for a quick and easy labor/delivery.
This weekend was okay, though we didn't have enough downtime. Saturday we did tons of errands, then went apple picking with my sister, BIL and niece. That was fun, though my niece torments by poor kid (she thinks he's a baby doll). Yesterday was my H's grandmother's unveiling, so we had to trek through the wasteland that is Staten Island to get to a cemetery in the wasteland that is Queens. We then came into Manhattan for an early dinner, though Miles was not cooperating at all.
Next weekend is my mom's wedding. I'm feeling very conflicted about it - I'm very excited for her and I know it'll be fun. But, she's just such a high maintenance bridezilla, I don't know how I'll get through it. I'm guessing that alcohol will play a significant role.

Good point, Cali. I will be looking fabulous.
Kay, he's wearing a navy blazer, khaki pants, white shirt and tie. It's kind of absurd to me, but at least I didn't have to buy the outfit for him - my mom found it at Nordstrom.
