Instead of taking him to his favorite restaurant, see if you can get the food to-go. Bring it home and have a romantic dinner at home. My husband loves this one dish at the Olive garden so he was really surprised to come home one night and have that for dinner. It's nothing fancy, but he might like it.
Lucky you. The Olive Garden was our favorite restaurant. Unfortunately the Canadian franchises were closed down in the 1990's. It's 2-1/2hrs drive to the closest location in Port Huron.
