Re: We need discussion. Badly.

  • I'm in.

    Where is everyone lately?

  • I'm sitting in an apartment full of boxes cursing the middle management !@#$ who decided that instead of closing tomorrow, we need a second appraisal. If this deal falls through, I will sell every box on EBay as a "Mystery Box" for $5 a piece.

That being said, and in an attempt to keep it in perspective, I'm not only taking some time to reflect on my wedding, but what brought DH and I together, and what we stand for as the "us" that we are.

If the mooshiness keeps me from killing an idjit with a red pen then it's done it's job.

I hope they're off doing far more exciting things than I'm doing right now at work. Stick out tongue

Sorry about the delay.  I've heard of people doing this on eBay.  Have you actually ever done it?

  • No, I just can't bear the thought of having to unpack it all. In reality, despite the delay, we should still get the house. It's just me and my bad-itude today.
  • Have any pictures of the house to share?
  • Oh, in other news...

My husband came home on Monday to find three of my shoes (none matching) sitting near the dog's bed, on the other side of the condo from the closet they're usually in.  I didn't put them there.

    Two theories:

    1) Dog did it, though she really doesn't chew on shoes or drag random items around... ever.

    2) Ghost. (spooooooooky....)

  • Dog possessed by ghost?
  • imagekarma007:

...though now that I look at it, there's something very KKK-esque about that ghost costume.

  • Yes but what SHOES is he wearing?
  • Dunno.  But if that random dog is wearing my shoes, I'm going to lost my sh!t.
  • I'm here.  I'll play ask me anything with you guys.  Do I ask you or do you ask me?

Pregnancy related note: My baby girl is breech and has been for the last 8 weeks.  Doctor gave me two options: 1. Have an external version procedure (youtube that one if you want to see what that is all about) or 2. Continue to wait to see if she turns on her own.  At 36 weeks, if she hasn't turned, then they schedule a c-section for 40 weeks.  I know she still hasn't turned because I can feel her little head popping out by my ribs.

Oh, and my husband and I have talked about it and have decided against the external version procedure because of the risks and only 58% success rate.

  • I've been busy putting kilometers on my car. Banff 2 weeks ago, Montana a week ago, a place called Radium in British Columbia 2 days ago, possibly Banff again this weekend and definatley Edmonton this weekend. We've been getting in some late season travelling since the summer here was garbage but so far the end of September and beginning of Fall have been beautiful....no jinx!

I love the mystery box idea. I should pack all the sh!t in my house and do that. We have to super tidy tomorrow before the Mr goes and gets the rest of his teeth out and is in to much of a stupor to do anything about it.

Other then that I've been working and working.

I had meant it to be all about me (lol Stick out tongue), but we can ask you, sure.  What's the big thing you can't wait to do when you're not preganant anymore?

Am I going to regret seeing what it's all about? (I.e., is it gross?)

Holy Cow! I'll think positive, twisty thoughts for you! Silly backwards girl!

Eek! My SIL had the procedure done with my niece and it did work...but that is my only breech success story :(.

If it makes you feel better, I might have to have a c-section if Liam is big...which is not quite yet, but on the big side of normal. If he looks like he might be more than 9 pounds my OB will recommend (and urge) for a c-section...gah.

  • Karen...

I can't wait to drink a couple of glasses of wine.

My turn to ask you something... are you a democrat or republican and why?

The external version procedure videos are work friendly but it does look a little gross.  It looks painful to me too which didn't play into my decision not to do it.  The doc said I would have to sign a consent form for them to do an emergency c-section if something went wrong and I really don't want to have a c-section at 36 weeks but I fear she will be too small.  I want to go the whole 40 weeks if I can.  I can't imagine having her taken away from me to NICU for being too small- I cry at the thought of it.

I'm not a fan of "big government," and would rather let most of our governances be at the state and local levels.  So as the parties seem to align themselves at the present time, I'm more republican than democrat.

Yeah, that would be brutal!  If you can wait it out, do so!

  • @Karma- Thanks!  I hope she decides to flip!  And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you on the house thing.  It would be the coolest thing in the world to have the title to your home as your paper anniversary gift!

@Angela- Are you scared to have a c-section?  I am terrified.  I know they are really routine but it's the fear of the unknown and fear that everything turns out well with the baby.  My friend said they strapped her arms down straight out like she was being crucified during her c-section and she said she prayed the whole time they were operating.  Her husband makes fun of her about it now but I totally imagine doing the same thing.

Have you ever taken the Political Compass test?  I took it a while ago and they aligned me with Gandhi and the Dalai Lama so I guess I am pretty liberal... who knew!?!

Here's a link to the test if you are interested:

I wish they had a "neutral" option to the test.  I didn't do it all today... I'm kind of brain dead right now, so it's not a good time for me to take it.

Okay, question for the first to answer:

What is the best Halloween candy?

Absolutely terrified. But the whole thing terrifies me, either way. And I'm trying to decide if I'm more scared of the surgery/recovery or tearing from end to end if I'm popping out a 10 pound hunk of chunk.

I talked to DH's cousin who is a Pediatric Intern right now and did a rotation in OB before deciding on Peds. He said it really depends on who does the surgery, but that the recovery isn't all that terrible (which I've also heard from 3 friends). I have never had any surgery, aside from wisdom teeth removal, and I'm totally scared that the pain meds won't work and I'll feel everything and...yeah...I don't know. I'm just hoping he stays "normal" sized and I don't have to make the decision!

What is the best Halloween candy?

I remember back in the day when we actually got things people had made.  There was a lady down the street from us that made homemade marshmallows and caramel apples.  Awesome....

Today?  I really like candy corn, both the regular kind and the chocolate kind.

My baby girl is a married woman...and now my baby girl HAS a baby girl. Time unfolds in such an amazing way. I've been blessed!
  • Candy Corn and Milk Caramels! When else does one buy those? They were made for Halloween and the dentists who love it...
  • Candy corn?!  That's not the BEST Halloween candy!  Nobody gives it out to trick-or-treaters, so it just can't be the best.

My choice is the Reese's pumpkins.  The peanut butter to chocolate ratio is so much better in these than the regular cups. :)

My second choice is the York Peppermint Patties with the orange centers.  They're just cute and I love Peppermint Patties any time.

  • I also question the candy corn.... I personally cant stand the stuff. Better than those awful popcorn balls, though.

York Peppermint patties .... I love them, but I never got a lot when I was trick or treating. I am a huge fan of Baby Ruth and Paydays, though.

  • I'm with ya on the candy corn.  Blech.

My personal fave is always kit kats.  Yum!

I stand behind my love of the tiny orange nuggets. Trade you my kit kats for your candy corn, but I want your wax lips too!

  • I am craving caramel apples....and will be making some on Saturday and eating them all!  Candy corn is the best....I especially love it when my mom and I put them in our mouths and pretend we are cats (we meow) then I eat too much and it makes me feel so sick....awesome!

Nicole- Sending good vibes your way!  I really hopes she flips soon...very soon.... maybe is you dance and jump up and down she will flip?  No?  Wink

Angela- Sending good vibes to you and your little linebacker too! Big Smile

    I want a baby........ Surprise
