Calling out Sam

Re: Calling out Sam

  • I don't think I ever was one of the ones who thought charting was that weird.  I like to know stuff. I did and do think the description of CM as egg white is gross.

No, I won't talk about poop.  But the boobs and poop reference just meant that I, like Bobthie, hate the occassion influx of all baby all the time posts.

  • We didn't chart.  We just had lots of sex right around when I thought I might be ovulating, and it worked like a charm.  I was planning to chart if the lazy sack of shiit method didn't pan out.

  • hey. me. my ovaries have (probably) actually shriveled up by now.

  • I charted right away when I got off the pill in 2008 but that was so I DIDN'T get pregnant.  Then I realized I wasn't ovulating for like 8 months and that kind of tripped me out and I wondered if I had messed myself up majorly by being on the pill.  I continued to chart when we switched gears because it's all science-y and graph-y and I like that type of shiit.

the CM was a little tricksey at first but after a couple months, it was really easy to pinpoint.  Also, FYI, semen/arousal fluid is water solulable and CM is not.  I never charted cervical position because my ute is/was majorly tipped and there is just no way of me reaching it.

  • I did the same thing  as Tasty, charted to avoid for a year after getting off BC and it just made sense to keep charting when we were trying. I like knowing stuff, and my cycle has always been long and somewhat irregular. This was the first time in my life that I actually knew what day my period was going to start (excluding while on the pill of course). I really like myself better off the pill, so I'll probably continue charting as BC once my period starts again.

  • No charting here.  It took longer than I expected to get back to "normal" after being on the pill for a decade.  We started thinking that we were going to have issues after a couple of months with nothing.  Now I know that we were just stupid to think that 7 months was a long time.  I grew up thinking that if I took my pill an hour later than usual, I would get knocked up.  Much to my surprise, getting pregnant isn't that easy for everybody.

Once my cycle regulated, it was only a month or two before I was pregnant.

I want to go off the pill now, figuring we would have a good six months before anything happens.  But I fear that getting pregnant a second time might not take so long.  Once we know for sure that we are in our new house, are all moved and settled, I am tossing the pills out the window.

If you have a consistent cycle, you can use the MyDays Android app. You can also enter your basal temps. I just like tracking my period now because it's so wonky after getting the IUD.

Yeah, I can't bring myself to start dropping shiit into cups.

  • I started charting as soon as we started trying, mainly because I like to have all the information I can about what's going on -- or at least have the illusion of all the information.  I never got a handle (so to speak) on evaluating CM.

I also started to get evaluated for potential fertility problems after six months of no success, mainly because of my age.

  • Did Fallin just say "shiits"? In a cup?
OK, who hacked into Fallin's account...

  • This post is making me fall in love with fallin all over again.

Ok, doesn't anyone just pee on those ovulation happy face sticks? I never charted or analyzed fluids or whatever. I just waited for smiley face day.

How about just using a CBEFM and calling it a day?  I went off the pill used that and got pg.  I guess I get wanting to know stuff but I'll take the easy way every time.  If I'd used the CBEFM for 6 cycles and didn't get pg, I would've gone to an RE.

This is pretty much where I've landed.  But, the inner geek in me is bitter betty that the TCOYF lady is all "la la la, it's soooo simple, la la la" and it isn't.  Biitch.

I will say that I have liked temp charting for knowing the day my period is starting, but I've recently found an app for my phone that is dead accurate in it's estimate.  I'm regular though.
