Re: Baby Fever!
We are waiting until May-ish. I'm going to go off of BC in March and start taking pre-natal vitamins (My gyno's requirement). That way I can spend a couple of months charting.
I ask Kevin everyday "Can we have a baby?" and he tells me no. But the reason he tells me no is that I have given him a window for when I'm "allowed" to get KTFU because I REFUSE to be between 6-9 months pregnant in June, July or August in FRIGGEN TEXAS!!! So. Even though I totally want to get KU RIGHT NOW... I won't because I am warm-natured and don't want to die from heat exhaustion while 9 months pregnant in June.
Edited: For my lack of "reading before posting" skills.
I know NC doesn't get as bad as Texas (and we get pretty bad), but I'd TOTALLY do it at this point. I want a baby!!!
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
February for me too! It can't come fast enough!
i SO agree on the not being KU during the Texas summer!! ugh!
I have the same problem. Its bad when you have to wait til you are done with school and all your friends are having kids and you want one so badly. I think it would be nice to start a family, but then I think it really isn't practical for us right now since I just started grad school and I won't be finished til 2 years from now. Its hard enough scheduling school and work, I couldn't imagine a child too. I am thinking maybe we should get a pet to reduce my urge as much but I have allergies to cats and dogs. I know there are dogs I can have but my hubby and I aren't sure cause of us being able to be home with the dog. I guess I will just have to deal with this until I am done with school. Any suggestions to reduce this baby fever so it won't make me crazy?
Got married 10/10/09
I live in Oklahoma, and I definitely agree about not wanting to be pregnant during the summer. Even without being pregnant, I feel faint and sick most of July and August, because I just can't take the heat.
I get bad baby fever off and on. Sometimes, it seems like I simply can't bear to wait any longer.. other times, I'm glad to have all that alone-time with my DH and getting to plan vacations without a baby to worry about.
I've asked DH about starting to try in May (which would conveniently avoid any heat while I'm 6-9 months pregnant), and he said he would think about it.. but so far it's a no. He's just not ready for it. Me.. well, I love traveling and I love sleeping through the night.. but sometimes all that just doesn't matter to me, because having a baby seems soo much more important ;-)
I know EXACTLY how you feel. I know right now the time isn't right, and it's only because I want our children to have the best opportunities that we can give them, that we're going to wait. Probably around two years. We want to buy our own home and we're working on that right now. Still, I would love to have a little one of our own.
