Poll: How much do you spend on gifts?
Re: Poll: How much do you spend on gifts?
For the gift we will typically spend only $50-100, but then we always go out for a nice meal too and that will usually run another $80-120.
On "special/big" birthdays we might spend a lot more. I think DH spent around $500-700 total for my 30th including limo, dinner, gift, entertainment etc.
DH wants a huge party when he turns 30 next year so I can see it will be around $500 for that birthday.
FI goes all out for gifts for me. He gave me all new appliances for my kitchen, new car, diamond earrings, etc. I usually spend around $200.
This past year, he forgot. He was away and just ran out of time. I forgot my birthday was coming too. It was a crazy time. I bought my own gift: reasonable $75 massage.
We had a very big party for him this year... about $3000.
Truthfully a little offended by your "comments" on the poll. Over $100 (only the best). Really?
I generally spend over $100 on his bday present, but not because it's "only the best" - but because I generally do something that is meaningful and he will remember. This year, I put together a brunch with his friends and family and then had a chef's table dinner at one of his favorite restaurants - total cost around $600 but the memories will last a lifetime.
Spending is irrelevant. It's the experience and the thoughts that count no matter the amount spent.
