Can we beat 65 posts today? I'm thinking no, but there is no harm in trying.
Re: Wednesday randoms
That sounds SO good.
I overslept as well (also because I was lazy and didn't want to get out of bed...hit my snooze button at least 7 times) and was 5 minutes late for work. And I'm starving!
Me too! I feel like we haven't gone out to dinner in forever.
I don't remember the last time we went out to dinner with just the 2 of us. We go out in groups, but I think the last time we went out alone was our anniversary in August.
That's crappy. I hope he gets it fixed soon!
That sounds fun! I haven't been ice skating in years.
This winter, I'm going to a outdoor rink if it's the last thing I do! I wanted to last year, but it didn't work out. One day, we drove all the way to Kalamazoo to go to the outdoor rink (and tubing hill) there, only to find that it was all slush. Major bummer.
I haven't been to an outdoor rink in like 7 or 8 years! Now we live right down the road from one...hopefully we'll make it out there this winter.
I went grocery shopping right after wk and got hair done. Mike actually said go and he would put the groceries away for me. Hair looks good with the blonde and different brown highlights but the front has no highlights and the blonde is whoah way too blonde. So I am going to have her put more brown low lights through the top and the same through the front and maybe have her tone down the blonde. Sound like a good idea?
Also on 3rd day of non smoking. Quitting cold turkey never helped. Got the nico patch and its a god send. Monday night when I was piissed about the cat and the bedding. Mike thought I was going to kill the cat or ask for a cig. I didn't do either and he was proud
So am I.
I was listening to Christmas music last night.
I can't wait to get a tree. I haven't had a Christmas tree since I lived with my mom about 7 or 8 years ago.
So our dishwasher hasn't been working very well lately. Half the dishes are still dirty when I open it or covered in a weird white film (all dishes go in well rinsed). It's not that old either (about 5 years old). I got sick of having to run it twice, so I've been hand washing dishes. It's really not that bad. Dishes seem to get done, and out of the sink twice as fast now. And I know they're clean when I'm done.
Does anyone know how to clean a dishwasher? I didn't have one growing up, so I'm a little dishwasher stupid. Should I try a different type of detergent? Right now we use Cascade powder and Jetdry. Is there a cleaning pack I can throw in there?
I'm still 3 lbs away from my pre-preg weight. And that is like 40 lbs away from where I should be. Boo. I need to work on this.
I only use liquid soap in the dishwasher. The powder stuff doesn't compare, at least in my opinion.
We desperately need a new dishwasher. Ours must be original to the house (13 years old) and it's rusting and coming apart. I swear everytime we open the dishwasher a new part that has fallen off is waiting for us. It's actually getting comical. Except that we've had 2 casualties in the past week. RIP champagne glass and regular drinking glass.
I'll try the liquid. It might help with the white film. I also read that you can run vinegar through an empty dishwasher. Maybe I'll try that tonight, too.
I just bought a Christmas present for my dad yesterday. That totally got me excited too, and now I want to get out there and start knocking everyone off of my list already.
3lbs away from pre-preg weight isn't that bad at all. You should be proud of that.
Losing weight is hard work. It really is a lifestyle change. Start with revamping your diet and taking a 20-25 min walk everyday. You can do it!
I already know what I'm going to get my dad. Everyone else, I have no idea. All the people on my list (that get a planned gift) are really hard to shop for. Basically Nick's parents, they never need anything. They rarely go out to eat because they're super picky eaters, so I can't do gift cards to dinner. They're the types of people that if they want something, they go buy it. It's really frustrating.
I like Christmas with my family because we do exchange games. Everyone brings a $15 gift, and we play a game. Fun and simple.
I have run vinegar through the dishwasher on a couple of occasions. I can't say as it helped a whole lot.
The dishwasher detergents are all changing right now to become more environmentally friendly (article). While it's obviously a good thing to not pollute the environment, I do think that they're not quite as affective. DH and I have noticed a difference. We have used Cascade Complete (liquid) for awhile now, and now that it's phosphate-free, it doesn't do quite as good of a job.
They will be easy next Christmas. Just get them a photo album of babyWop.
(Finished bathroom = the go ahead for baby = easy gifts for grandparents. lol)
I started Christmas shopping last week in Arizona! We stopped at this little Navajo road-side crafts market and I went a little crazy (although I could have gone a lot crazier -- I loved their products!). In addition to a couple of items for myself, I bought gifts for my mom and my MIL.
I was wondering if this was still the deal, but I didn't want to ask!
It is a complete lifestyle change. It's also a hard and frustrating process. I lost a ridiculous amount of weight. I say that, because I'm embarassed to admit how much I really weighed.
I used a shot called Victoza - it's a diabetic medication, but they found it helps with weight loss. I'm not, nor was I diabetic at the time.
Even with that, I had to re-train how I ate, get rid of the stress eating, and work out. I set little goals, which helped tons.
I've been on the phone with Verizon my entire lunch and they can't figure out what's wrong with my phone.

Re: weight loss. I *know* what I need to do. It would be easier if I could just have a personal trainer or something...lol. I'm so lazy.
Yes, this is still the deal. Teehee.
If all goes well there might be a baby WOP by Christmas next year. We'll see how it goes. It's a secret from family and friends though. They don't know about our finished bathroom deal. Haha.
I hate to be the one to break the bad news to you, but ours did that and no amount of vinegar or soap switching helped (believe me, I tried everything). We had to get a new dishwasher. We found one for fairly cheap ($300ish) from Lowes. I will say it was a great purchase. I love the layout of the new ones A LOT better.
