Re: Wednesday randoms
I really don't want to get a new one if I dont have to. Is 5 years old for a dishwasher?
I bought some dishwasher cleaner at Meijer on my lunch. I'll run that and see if it makes a difference. I also bought some liquid detergent, mostly because it was only $4 for the big bottle. I have to admit, I was never a fan of the powder.
5 years is not old. I would be pretty upset if I had to replace my dishwasher after 5 years.
Wow, you have been productive!
They run some dishwasher cleaner through the one at the office every now and again.
My dishwasher never worked - it smelled burned and water pooled at the bottom so i cleaned it out, and never used it. I just wash by hand.
My boss's son was house-sitting, used the dishwasher, and thought he broke it. He had his dad come over to see if he could fix it. He was rummaging around looking for a tool, or dishtowels, or something, and found my stash 'herbs' and pipe.
I guess with the awkwardness of that - he didn't tell me about the dishwasher for about 3 months. The water had been sitting at the bottom for that long, and was the nastiest thing I saw when I opened it.
Aw man, really? I would be bummed too. I don't get why people never want to participate in work festivities.
That sucks.
My office is too small for stuff like that. I loved working for a bigger company, and being able to participate in those activiities.
My work is notorious for that sort of thing. We had a bake sale (for charity) last year at Christmastime. Only a few people (including me) baked anything for it, and almost no one purchased anything. There are 100 people in my office, so you'd think there'd be more participation!
I work with a bunch of year-round scrooges. Not the best work culture, IMO.
Boo!
I want to work with you where you have chili cook-offs, horse shoe leagues, and human fooseball! It sounds like you work with fun people.
We are buying a new dishwasher this week (or when we have time).
Just had to share that.
I think thing number 1 is up from her nap,so I'm off.
They've taken a lot of monetary things away from over the last few years, and so they are trying to keep morale up by doing lots of fun things with us.
We had 5 (one a month from May to Sept) company cookouts over the summer (me and a partner won the egg toss competition in Sept, holla). They provide the food and drinks and we play random games.
Every Halloween we have a company wide decorating/costume competition.
They just do a bunch of random, fun things. I think it really helps morale. And it's nice that so many people participate.
Your co-workers sounds liker boogers.

They (mostly) are.
No kidding. Don't they understand that company fun = getting paid while not having to actually work???
Never thought of it that way. lol. when did you actually get married?
We don't do fun stuff like that at my work, but we drink a lot.
There's always a bottle of wine in the fridge - there's some rum in the cupboard - I have 2 bottles in my office.
Anytime we get together there's TONS of empty wine bottles on the table.
I forgot to mention this part, but the kicker is that the chili cook-off was intended to be a part of a larger potluck to raise money to help cover health care expenses for a coworker of ours who is going through cancer treatment. So, it's for a good cause, but still the whole thing is cancelled because so few people signed up for both the cook-off and the potluck.
I think you could have had a lot of fun with binary code themed decorations and favors! (I'm a dork too.)
That makes it so much worse.
Haha. T's due date was 01/10/10. I thought that would be a cool birthday to have...just because it's a bunch of 0's and 1's.
