Putting this out there

Since a lot of you lurk around at posts on the bump

No, I am not pregnant.

I am having some issues with OCD that is suddenly flaring up that may be related to hormone changes from the pregnancy. Apparently it is common but I didn't know about it and so I have been hiding it from people.

Anyway, I would rather bring it here than have some random lurker find it and try to mock me.

  • :( I hope things get better for you, Winger.

  • Oh, Winged.  I'm so sorry you're dealing with this.  Now that you know, are you able to deal with it through therapy or meds?  Obviously you don't have to answer if you don't want to.

    I'm sending you big hugs.

  • Sadly, I don't think we have any crazy lurkers anymore.  I hope you feel better soon.

  • Oh Winged, that's tough.  I'm sorry you are going through this.  I hope you are able to feel better and more in control soon.
  • Sorry you are dealing with this, Winged. I hope it gets better for you.

There was a regular poster over on MM that had the same issue and blogged about it, but I can't seem to remember who that was now.

  • Thanks everyone.

SB, I am just starting a DBT group next week that will hopefully help. I am going to talk today with my OB and will pursue meds if necessary but I am just wary of them with breastfeeding. I know they say there is no evidence of problems, but it just makes me nervous.

  • Oh no, I'd never heard of that either.  How scary.  Hope you're on the road to feeling more like yourself again soon.

Really? hmmm, how should I title that "PAGING OTHER CRAZY MOMS"

ETS: Sorry, that sounded bitchy probably but I meant it with dry humor. I like to laugh through the pain.

  • We gotcha. We gotcha.

  • That sucks.  I'm sorry you have to deal with this stuff right now.  That's a lot on your plate.

It's fine. I laughed before I saw your edit.

I bet the therapy will do wonders.  I can definitely understand being wary of the meds.

It was jenny1980, she used to be an AFBer actually. She seemed to tackle her issues relatively quickly. Page her, I bet she will have some advice and words of encouragement. Hang in there, winger!

  • I'm sorry Winger.  I appreciate the fact that you're giving us first dibs at mocking you before some dirty lurker beats us to it!

Seriously, though, I hope you find a solution that works for you soon.

I'm sorry you're having a rough go of things right now.  If there's anything we can do to help you out, let us know!

Yes, you can. Don't step on cracks. It makes me uncomfortable.

Also, do you mind cutting your hair and calling me Sheila? My brain told me to tell you that.

  • Well Sheila, I am overdue for a hair cut.  I'll make an appointment today.

  • Sorry Winger. It sucks that you have to deal with this when you have so many other things you'd rather be giving your energy to.

I'm sure it's just temporary-- between therapy and your hormones eventually chilling out, I'm sure you'll be able to squash that sucker without having to worry about meds.

    Hugs.

  • Oh, dear. You're not going to go all crazycakes Blair on us, are you?

That was my attempt to be the crazy lurker who mocks you. But seriously, don't go all Blair, please?

  • I am sorry Wang. These hormonal shifts are the suck. I am anticipating a pretty big depression coming up.
It's good that you are aware and working to help yourself.

Do you? Are you already feeling a bit of it?

  • Well, I have no prior history, but have been pretty miserable pregnant. And while in Starbucks the other day I was reading about how a local animal shelter was destroyed from some bad flooding in the spring and one of the things they needed was toys, and that made me cry. In public. Because they animals have no toys. So I made Kevin go to the store with me and buy a shitload of stuff to drop off to make myself feel better.
So my ongoing negativity, paired with a hormonal free fall, no sleep, a gross body, the animals having no toys and the holidays make me foresee some kind of breakdown. I will be closely following your experience as you choose to share it.
