They sell 7's, Joe's, True Religion, etc. at the discount dept stores here, so they're under $100. They really do make your ass look better though- the pockets are closer together and angled. Huge difference in the pocket placement in the expensive ones vs the cheap ones. And with coupons you can get 7's for not too much more than you'd pay at the GAP.
I don't hem anything and I'm 5'7. I just let them drag on the ground and get all frayed up or I turn up the bottoms enough so they don't get wet if it's raining.
B is 5'8 and he has to get his 7's hemmed. The men's are ridiculously long.
I had the opposite problem with maternity pants. Even the tall stuff came at least two inches above my ankles and made me look ridiculous.

Yup. I bought jean leggings there the other day (they are NOT jeggings! They are clearly two different words) and they fit perfectly.
Joe's Jeans are much kinder to the curvy woman. They are my favorites.
