Off-shoot on prenatals....

I'm new to the club.

Do y'all take the tablet/capsule combo or just tablets?

And Melinda..... it says to "take with food" on mine... do you do that?

Re: Off-shoot on prenatals....

  • Always take them with food or you most likely will get sick

mine are I guess a tablet?

They also have gummies now :D

  • I have tablets. I found that even if I took them with food, I would still get the sick to my stomach feeling.  I take them before I go to bed now, so that I sleep through the ickies! :)

  • mine is just a pill. no capsule.

i try and remember to take with food. it doesnt bother me however if i just randomly take it.

if you look into the gummies - at least the target brand ones dont have iron. if that is something your dr wants in your pill (mine did) you would have to take a 2nd pill along with them. i wanted the gummies but did not want to bother with buying 2 bottles of pills and taking 2 a day!

  • Mine was a tablet and I took it with food with DS1. Couldn't take them with DS2, but took a gummy instead.
  • Mine is a Wal-Greens brand and it has a pill that is the actual Vitamin and then a gell looking capsule that is omega-3s that is meant to be taken at a separate time.  I've not been taking that one really yet.
  • I take the Target Brand tablets. When I first started taking them with Olivia, I'd get nauseous. Ever since, I take mine them right before bed with a big glass of water and haven't have any issues.

  • I take the Flintstone's Complete chewable vitamins which my Dr. says are fine because they have the right amount of folic acid and iron.  I usually take them with food too, because despite the fact that they taste like candy, they are decieving, and make my stomach hurt if I don't eat a little something.

  • I used the Target brand tablets.  I usually took mine after breakfast.  I never had any nausea.  I need to get into the habit of taking mine again and my iron supplement.  I was really, really anemic when I was pregnant and I have has always had a low hemoglobin.

  • Is the capsule (DHA right?) necessary if you're not actively trying?  Or is that something that's more important when it's baby-making time?

I'm taking the Target prenatal tablets.  And I try to take mine with whatever I'm munching on at night, so haven't had much nausea.

Just wondered if it might help Melinda with her drowsiness, but it seems to be unrelated.

    THANKS!!!!!!!!
