Re: Tuesday Randoms
Kasa - sorry to hear about your grandpa
Juli - I hope Toby doesn't need surgery again.
Those makeup bags are cute.
Laura - good luck with the job interview.
I usually do honey wheat when I feel like baking bread.
I've never tried french bread.
French sounds delicious. We don't eat white bread (like from the store...), only wheat.
The only bread I make is beer bread from TS. Bread mix + can of beer = easy deliciousness.
I'm so frustrated for H. He has had SO much trouble the last 6 months with one of his stores.
First, he finds out that his store manager has basically bilked the company out of an estimated $100k. So she gets fired immediately, and he has no one to promote, so he has to basically run the store for a few months.
Finally, they find someone and hire him. They obviously aren't allowed to ask ages of people when they hire them, so shortly after they hire him H finds out he's 64. (They obviously knew he was older, but didn't know how old.) It's a very physically demanding job. H had a lot of trouble training him (probably not age related, he was just slow at learning things, picking things up, lacked MAJOR common sense skills, etc). Finally gets him trained, he passes all of his certifications, H can finally leave him alone so he can do his job, then bam, 2 weeks ago gives his notice. He said the job is too pyshically demanding and he's just not getting it. Which was SO very true. His last day is Friday.
A lot of drama happened last night, H was on his phone a lot talking to that particular store. Turns out, the manager denied a woman with a cane an application!!! OMG. She is now suing the company, and obviously that manager was fired immediately.
I feel so bad for H for having to deal with all this crap. He had no part in hiring that manager and complained about him all the time. And now he has to deal with the owner and the lawsuit.
Ugh.
We only eat wheat from the store too, but I don't have any wheat floour at home.
You should try making your own beer bread. It's just as good (if not better IMO) and a hell of a lot cheaper.

You can put pretty much anything you want in it.
Oh my. Hopefully the craziness ends soon.
So sorry your H (and you) are going through this. I hope everything get settled quickly.
I'm so sorry you guys have to deal with this. Life shouldn't be this complicted.
I hope it works itself out soon.
Mine were free, but this is awesome for future reference! Thank you!
Thank you for letting me vent.
PS. Miraculously the long weekend up north is still on, I have no idea how, but I'm not going to question it.
You must make it immediately! Haha. So good!
Man, there are a lot of tough situations going on in our little community right now! I'm saying a little prayer for all of you who have shared here.
As for me, I've started playing Christmas music when I'm alone. Getting so excited for the season!
Haha. You're awesome.

Haha. You're awesome.
Love it.
I bet that some of the local radio stations will be playing xmas music the day after halloween. Ugh. Can we atleast wait until around Thanksgiving?
Last night, I put together my mom's token Christmas presents that she keeps around to give to various people. It was fun!
OK!! I'll make some this weekend!
OK!! I'll make some this weekend!
Des&Molly, sorry to hear about your husbands work stress. That sounds like a really crappy situation. I hope things work themselves out very soon!
Wop, a couple of years ago I decided to try my hand at making be bread. I tried a few times and it turned out pretty good. Not worth the effort though, IMO. I just buy "homemade" bread from local farms/bakeries now.
Chymes, I'm really looking forward to the holidays this year too! H and I were just discussing our holiday time-off strategy for this year.
Have you tried the chocolate beer bread yet? I can get you the recipe if you want.
