Hey Cate, Linds, Heart & Kath.... yikes this sucks today. I am not a fan! Sometimes clicking on someone's name then their posts takes you there and sometimes it doesn't.
Nothing much going on today so since we can't get on our board - I am going to work on wedding things. I need to finish these freaking STD's before I go insane.
Ooh good news! I think we're going to come in $3,500 under budget! I don't even know how but I almost threw up with excitement. Check back later and everyone have a GREAT Friday.

a good friend of mine was telling me about her BIL getting married, and his bridezilla FI. bridezilla's dad said if she could stay within the budget he would give her a cash bonus... however, it seems that her wedding planner has already gone $20,000 OVERbudget. as in... $20,000 more than the actual budget. YIKES.

Oh my lord! She could have gotten a cash bonus and gave it up? Stupid!
Honestly, my first wedding (Hence my 2007 Knot account) was WAY over budget. It started at $5,000, went to 10,000, I think eventually ended up (with honeymoon included) around $23,000. I don't know I quit keeping track.
This time we set our budget firmly before we did anything and then we worked backwards. When I first started figuring I was about $2,000 over.
I cut the floral budget back $400, I cut our guest list by 5 people (yes this made a HUGE difference), and we get all of our stationary for free since Mike's aunt owns a printing company. I found an amazing deal on a dress that I love and I think that's basically it. Food was a big part of it. I absolutely refused to spend more than $1200 (including the 15% that's added on to my total catering bill for the management of Historical Parks *rolls eyes*)
One of the catering companies we had to use had amazing deals for "decreasing your economic load" during your wedding. We meet with the caterer in two weeks but I think it's coming out right on point.
Keep in mind I actually ended up adding more, I hired a DOC and rented a photobooth and we're still way under. I didn't get rid of anything, really. I don't know I how that worked out but somehow it did.

She emailed me first then emailed Shoes threatening to ban us. I honestly think she did and I wrote not such a nice message that she has not replied to which really pissed me off. I'm willing to change my profile to Santa Fe - never been but it sounds nice!
