  • Has anyone seen the forecast for later this week?  They're predicting a rain/snow mix.  I'm not ready Crying

  • Sleep

T was up pretty much all night, crying.  I think he's teething.  Boo.

Otherwise, I had a good weekend.  Had a fun photo shoot with T and Noa and another friend - got some great shots of my little man.  And then last night we had some yummy pizza from our favorite place and waited for the T-o-Ters...we only got 6.  :)

  • Boo for being up all night.  Yay for cute pics!

We only got 11 T o T'ers.  It's kind of nice not having that many kids come down our street.

  • 24 more days until Thanksgiving!

  • We took little Nick trick-or-treating for his first time last night.  He loved every minute of it.  Everytime we'd get to a door I'd tell him to say "trick-or-treat" and he'd hold up his little pumpkin bucket and go, "candy!"  It was super cute and got a lot of laughs.  Thankfully, after each treat he was given he said thank you (which is more than I can say for some of the older kids that were zooming by us).  We made it to about 12 houses before he pooped out, which was fine with us.  We just wanted him to experience it and have some fun. Smile
  • Oh I am SO not ready for snow :(

We had a lot of kids ToTing, and I was surprised that the older high school aged kids were the polite ones.  The 7-10ish age group were the ones not saying anything - no trick or treat, thank you, nothing.  I was tempted to be that mean lady and not give them any candy but decided against it.

  • Good morning :)

My Halloween was very very nice, actually. It was quiet, and I worked on my sewing stuff, but it was nice!

My weekend was good, too. I went to Grand Rapids for my state test to be a CNA and passed!!!!!

  • My weekend was ok. But I need to vent. My friend finally got a hold on me on Wed night. She texted me and said she was still mad at me for something the boys did when I was there last time, but I was still coming for the weekend. Friday morning, I get a text that her work is changing her schedule so she is no longer working on the weekends so there for this was my last weekend. That threw me for a loop. I went home Friday kinda freaking out but calmly went through our bills for each month did my buget for the next 3 months and I am fine. I am still going to look for a part time job. I filled out 2 apps this weekend and am going to drop them off tomorrow after wk - going to dress professional even though it's a casual place. So after that, I had the 2 boys for most of Friday. They were grounded from Halloween but were fine with it. We went to McDonalds and then to Target and Walmart. I got some xmas shopping. My friend came home early yesterday so I got to leave early and relax at home. How nice :) Then this morning when I was throwing kitty litter in dumpter also went my lunch bag and lunch. I was able to get the bag but the food was all the way at the bottom - screw that. So when I went and got gas, I had to get a sandwich. Oh well.

This sounds extremely immature to me.  If she was upset about something, why didn't she call you to talk about it instead of sending you a text message?  If it were me I would be glad that I wasn't watching her kids anymore.

Good for you for looking for a part time job.

  • Good Morning!

It was a great weekend, I ran a Halloween 5k dressed up which was a lot of fun.  Then our friends had their annual Halloween party so it was great to spend time with friends who came in from out of town for the event.  Although, I imbibed a bit too much and was a bit hungover yesterday - for the first time in a long time.  Reminds me why I usually just stick to one or two beers.

  • I saw a bunch of fun costumes this year - my favorite was a neighbor family - Mom was the Tin Man, Dad was the Scarecrow, one daughter was the wicked witch, another was Dorothy and the other the good witch.  The kicker was that they shaved their dog (a golden doodle) in a lion's cut so he was the Cowardly Lion.
  • Hi!!

I had a nice and relaxing weekend which I needed.  I was pretty wiped out by the time the weekend hit.  On Thursday, I drove to Traverse City and back for work.  On Friday, I drove to Ann Arbor and back to visit my grandpa in the hospital.  It was a long a tiring couple of days.

I gave out candy last night.  We got quite a few.  Maybe 35 before I turned the light off?  And I also noticed that the older kids were often more polite than the school age kids.

Random comment of the day: I got purple carrots from my co-op.  I used them in a chicken stew that I made yesterday.  The purple dyed my hand, my cutting board, and also the entire stew.  Even the chicken bits are a deep purple now.  It tastes great, but it's kind of funny looking.

    I'm ready!

It's already snowed a couple of times at my parents' house up  north.

  • I got a facial at Douglas J Aveda Institute on Saturday and it made me realize how much I would love to be an Esthetician.  I inquired about the program but Esthetician classes are only offered in East Lansing.  :-(  I was kind of sad.   In order for me to do the program, I would probably have to quit my job.

I get my hair done at the Aveda Institue - I love that place.  It's walking distance from my house.

From what you say on here, you sound like you'd make an awesome Estheticiann.  Do they have loan programs which could cover you while you go through the program?

I LOVE the girl I get facials from.  I found her randomly, as she works in one of the casino spas here.  She got me hooked on a line of products (her place doesn't sell them, so no commissions) my skin has NEVER looked better.

  • Afternoon Ladies. I followed TheWop and got me hair cut too. Took of about 4" and what leaves like 5#'s. We only had about 2 bags worth of ToT's last night, but that was more that last year. Out yard is nice and clean, I asked SS to sweep the driveway and he just did that and the whole yard as well. Since we're done to one car, the house is starting to look fairly respectable as well.

They do have loan programs, but I don't know much about them.  I do know that I am out of the age bracket for a few of them they offer (I'm too old Stick out tongue).  I'm not necessarily concerned about the tuition.  I just...I don't know.  I really like my job now, but I'm not sure how much I'll like it when/if I have kids.  Plus I always wish I could go back to school to be an esthetician, there's just never been the right opprotunity.  It's hard because I don't know what kind of job market is out there for this type of work.  I have a good job with great benefits now so it's hard to think about leaving to go to school for something there might not be a job open for.  le sigh

We had a family like this in OUR neighborhood!  The mom was the wicked witch, the dad was the scarecrow, the daughter was Dorothy, the son was the tin man and they had a little black yorkie (I think) for Toto.

If you decide to do it, do it before you have kids!  I would love to go back to school, but right now I'd rather spend my free time with T rather than taking night classes.  :)  So I'm pushing it back to when he's older.

I know what you mean.  I just don't know if I want to put off having kids any longer.  Maybe I could take 6 months off work and go to school (thats' how long the program is) if I had a baby in the picture?  Nick always talks about me being a SAHM and if I decided to do that he would support my decision.  We'll see.  I'm beginning to think I waited too long to make this dream a reality though.

Also, since it only takes 6 months you could do both at the same time and have your license by the time the baby is born.  Stick out tongue

I'm 32, I don't have my masters, or my license -- something I said I'd do 'a year or so' after college.  My boss says it's ok that I don't have it now, as long as I do something about it, but it's not ok to have the same conversation with myself about wanting these things 2 years from now.

    Congrats!!

My weekend was pretty calm.  We didn't have very many trick-or-treaters.  I also noticed that it was the older kids who were nicer - a lot of young-ish kids didn't say ToT or thank you, but the teenagers were super polite.
