I'll try and keep them to a minimum - but I'm just in love with it!

Also, just to note:
The dresser was Pete's grandfathers that he completely repaired and refinished. It looks incredible. It's one of my favorite things in the room. The finial on top is the original color - we left it to show the difference of the before and after.
My most favoritest thing is my dad's drawing he did for my nursery when I was a wee lass. I had it matted and framed to match the pictures over the crib I got off etsy.
I made her little mobile out of tissue paper for the flowers and the little butterflies are scrap pieces of cardstock that I handcut and stuck on there.
The ivory and pink roses in the silver vase on the shelf I made out of coffee filters. I hand painted them, dried them, and then curled them into what I hope looks like real roses. It was one on the more annoying projects I took on, but I like the way they turned out.
I refinished the little table and that lamp. The lamp was something we already had - I just spray painted the base white and hot glued the pink ribbon and flowers on the lamp shade. I also spray painted all the baskets and the shelves... none of them matched and they were all pieces we had, so I love how those turned out.
The chair is huge - love the color, but not sure I love it in the room... but, oh well.
Anyway - the room is done. She can come now!
(are you listening, L?!)
Re: Evolution of a Nursery
Holy jizzbag, Hezz! It looks amaaaaaazing. Like, straight out of a magazine amazing.
Want to come take a vacation to Texas in a few years when I need a beautiful nursery?

Your nursery makes me feel inadequate.

Totally gorge. I love it so. Makes me wish we'd finish Owen's room.
She needs some of these shoes to match her room:

I love the rug with the bedding. It really ties all the colors together. Your carpenters did a great job.
Did you have trouble finding frames for the prints? We have some from the same shop and I'm having a hard time finding one that doesn't cut the ends of the picture off, but I'm too cheap to get a custom frame.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman

it's simply beautiful! I love all of it, you are both very talented and have impeccable taste.
ETA: I just looked through the album, I like what you did with the crown molding corners, it reminds me of something.
This. For real. I'm glad I'm a local because I"m totally hiring you to decorate my future home.
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
I gasped a little when I got to the after pictures. Fukkin A man, you're awesome! It's so gorgeous. I love how you layered the colors to make everything look so soft.
Also, Carpenter Al is making my ovaries ache. Oof.
The nerve!

Dudes, thank you so much!
I honestly just sit and look at the Rate My Space rooms and pick and choose what I like from each one. I really lucked out with all the pieces falling together. I think the coolest part is how much we reused or got on the super cheap. The biggest splurge in the room was the chair - and even that was cheap in comparison to other gliders out there. I think it was $300ish?
The next most expensive thing was the custom frame for my dad's pic. I had no idea how expensive it was to do that - but, I'm glad that it's well protected and it looks so great in it's new frame. Mouse - I think you asked about the etsy frames... I don't know if she's resized her prints since you got yours, but I had no problem fitting them in. I got 11x14 frames with 8x10 openings and they fit perfectly.
The crib was a 6th of the cost of Al's crib and it's a convertible crib just like his... We got it at Walmart, it's a Graco "Lauren". It's funny, actually, there were lots of things (crib, curtains, picture frames) that were called Lauren. It's like they picked themselves.
The changing table I got off Craigslist for super cheap... $30?
The dresser was free - just cost Pete time and effort.
The light fixture was $40ish(?) I want to say... I got it for super crazy sale and free shipping from Lighting Direct.
The (3rd set, lol) curtains came from the clearence section in BBB. They just happen to match perfectly. I bought and returned so many curtain panels that I don't remember how much they actually were. I just remember them giving me back $5 on my last exchange. So, to me, it's like they paid me to take them.
And the rug came from Overstock.com. I'm el cheapo, so I don't rememb er how much it was, but I wouldn't have spent too much on it. I want to say it was between $50 and $80 max...
My favorite thing is the crib bumper. I thought those killed babies, though?

My first kid survived.
But, if she shows any suicidal tendencies, I'll take it out.
Hezz, it really is a gorgeous nursery. Like others have said, I would love that room for myself! It's so very put together and has so many great touches. The bedding you guys chose is gorgeous. You and Pete can paint stripes better than anybody out there. The chair rail and crown molding and cornices are gorgeous -- I'm super impressed you guys put that all up yourselves.
I cannot say enough about the room! I think it really is wonderful and amazing and fabulous and pretty! Good work, Pete! Good work, Hezz! Good work, Aelickxs!
