Re: What's the age gap..?
We're much older than you all! Yikes (ok, but second time around for us both)
He is older than me by 4 1/2 years but at our age the gap really is insignificant. We actually have known each other for over 20 years. We had a mutual circle of friends and later in life when we were both going through our separations we caught up with each other and the rest is history.
Andy is 3 3/4 years older than i am (Nov '75 vs Aug '79) though i pretty much think of us as the same. I am 31, and he just turned 35 a few weeks ago.
occasionally he'll mention his HS graduation ('94) and ill picture in my head one of the seniors i knew when i was a freshman in HS, and how OLD i thought they were at the time, and it makes me chuckle.
as an aside, Andy's first wife is 14 years older than he is. Its funny, because although all 3 of us parent their daughter (she is 8) i sometimes feel as though i am in a totally different wolrd than this woman.

So, you know how in grade school you always have a crush on your friend's older brothers??
I married mine.
Wes is 5 years older than I am. (I'm 28, he's 33.)

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermMegan - I love that you tell him he came here for you, so cute!!
Jacki - Your one lucky girl!! Honestly, do you think you knew in your mind it'd be something special one day??
Part of the year we have 9 years between us, the rest is 8 - so call it 8.4ish years difference.
I turn 38 in a month-ish and he's not quite 30.
In a little less than half a year, we'll be in the same decade of age for the first time since we've known one another!
It was five years ago last month, so I was 32 and he was ... ahem ... 25. Aaaand, he worked for me.
He came to my newspaper as an intern from a local university (where I also teach) in 2002 and then, just after he graduated, a job opened up and I hired him for it. We started dating three years later.
that.is.wild! It amazes me how funny life really is.
I had NO. CLUE.
The age gap was enough to keep us from talking much growing up. (When I was 12 and in 7th grade, he was 17 and a senior.) He was totally into heavy metal and was all leather, chains, spikes, and long hair. He was intimidating to say the least!
The whole story of how we met and eventually dated is pretty magical. And, not to be all whatever on ya, I totally see God's hand in everything. We were just MADE to be married to each other.

DH is 3 years older than me, Jan 1983 and Feb 1986.
When I was in high school I would go to drinking parties at his house. My BF at that time was abusive and about punched me one night and DH saved me. I had always had a crush on him and I had always told my BF that I was going to marry him some day. I was right, it just took us a little while to find eachother again!
I'm May 9th too! I NEVER meet anyone with my birthday. DH is May 24th.

I love reading all these stories.... Jacki/Brooke, those are cute stories! God had a plan for everyone and it's so cool to hear about them!
DH and I are 2 1/2 years apart. I'm 25 and he's 27.
This is almost the same as my story with DH - we met when we were 10 and 11 on a field trip in sixth grade. During middle school we were enough of friends to sign each other's year books, and in high school I had a crush on him (but I was too quiet and shy for him). We re-met at our 10 year high school reunion, and I asked him out two days later!
Ahhh, I love it!! We recently found our highschool yearbooks too and read what the other wrote and I was shocked that I actually addressed it "Chavie-Poo"!! I don't remember ever calling him that! I must've been in a flirty mood that day or I just knew something else bigger was to come. So, of course, that's how I addressed the card I have him on our wedding day.

so cute - I love that you called him Chavie-Poo.
It was a little mortifying to read our yearbooks for the first time since 1998. I actually called him "charming and handsome" in my yearbook entry from high school, and he said I was "always there with a hug" - LOL. The funny, funny part was going through all his yearbooks and there were at least half a dozen girls professing their crushes to him in more direct ways like "I don't care if you have a girlfriend - I love you - call me!"
No wonder he still thinks he's got game! hahahahaha....
Keith is 2 years and 19 days older than me. We were 22 and 24 when we first started dating.

I think I take the "biggest age gap" trophy...I'm 37, FI (DH in 10 days!) is 58, so there's a 21-year age gap. Yes, he's older than my dad, by 9 months. Some of our friends joke that he bought the bar a round the night I was born.
Truth be told, we never formally started "dating". We had been working closely together when I started going to the church he attended after I moved back to Kansas City from Oklahoma, and attraction developed from there. He looks younger than he is, and he assumed, since I had older teenagers (my daughters were almost 16 and 14 at the time), that I must be older than I look. By the time we started discussing our feelings for each other, the age difference was pretty much irrelevant. It doesn't bother us in the least, and honestly, we only notice it when he says "hey, do you remember (insert TV show name here)?" and I say "Omigosh, I love that show! I used to watch it all the time on Nick at Nite!"

I don't see it as a big deal. I know DH will occasionally feel crappy about it - he doesn't say it, but I can tell in certain situations...
