Wintery Wednesday Randoms

Re: Wintery Wednesday Randoms

  • The climb to my upstairs office was touch and go for awhile, but I made it ok. Wink

And the first thing I did when I got to my computer was register for the Bayshore Marathon in May, which will be my second-ever 26.2! And now begins the winter training... Huh?

  • A huge truck was fish-tailing right in front of me on my drive in.  Scary!

I left early this morning because I had to get gas.  My gas light has been on since Monday...so I really *needed* it.  I grabbed my debit card on my way out the door this morning and put it in my pocket.  Loaded the kid in the car and drove to the gas station.  Looked everywhere my card should be, and couldn't find it anywhere.  I found $3.00 in my console, thank God.  About 2 miles later, my gas light came back on.  Ugh.  I hadn't even dropped T off at daycare yet.

    I guess I should invest in a purse...yuck.

T and I were sick Monday.  Think it was just a 24 hour bug, but puking at work (and daycare) is not fun!

The girls had the 24 hour thing last year at Christmas break when we had them. And we all got it. I hope that doesnt happen this year.

  • SS will be so freaking excited when he gets home from school. He will finally be able to use his new electric snow blower. He's been getting mad at the weather people because 2 times they said snow and we didn't get any. I told him he needs to listen a wee bit closer to what they say.

What about just a small nice wallet. I worked with a girl who hated purses but used a wallet. She had it stuffed until she finally got a small wrist purse.

Winter training? As in you will be outside training? You are a better women than I. DH wants to do the Ironman Bike race next year for his birthday. I think he is a bit crazy.
  • Holy crap it's December!  I feel SO behind on my shopping.  Usually I'm done by now!  Eek!

I remember seeing that, but I don't remember who.

My son's sister has Crohn's, so I know a bit about it, if you want to know something - FB message me.

Too funny. :) He's going to be a hit in the neighborhood with that enthusiasm!

  • Last night I did some shopping. I got my bestfriend's sons done, I got a John Wayne calendar for Mike, some stocking stuffers and a game for the girls. I got home and I forgot to get the stupid tree skirt. Errrrr

    Can you drink alcohol?

There are some meds (one of which I'm on) that say not to drink alcohol b/c the drug is metabolized through the liver, but research hasn't shown how much is "OK" or not--like being pg and drinking. I do enjoy a glass of wine or a beer every now and then, but less than once a week average. Others I know (on the same drug) avoid it completely.

Besides the drug side effects, would drinking alcohol effect you in other ways?

Sorry if this is too personal...you don't have to answer.  :)

Not that I know of--I never drink enough to get drunk, and I never feel bad the next day. Coke makes me more *ahem* rumbly than wine, actually. :D

  • Today is Pay it Forward Day. I bought the next customers coffee. It was a nice feeling :)

Sweet! That makes me want to go out and do it too.

    You have my attention. :)
  • I hate it when other people post cryptic things like this, but I am just not comfortable sharing in public yet. I will say that I am not pg.

My thoughts were:  "She's obviously not engaged.  She's not pregnant.  She just got a promotion.  Her H has a good job.  Hmmm...what the heck?!?!"

Yes... I was thinking along these lines too.

OH!  I have a guess.  Is it related to your education?

Hehe!  I was just coming to ask "Law school?!?!"

  • Since you guessed it, what the heck... I got my first answer today and it is a YES!!! I am still waiting for three more.
