Re: what are you brining on sunday??

  • I think I will bring my pasta salad. I brought it last year, I've made it my signature dish. :)
  • a dessert! and some spinach/artichoke dip if no one else is bringing any
  • How many people are coming? Would I be branded an alcoholic if I brought Mimosa ingredients? I don't know all the deets but feel free to email me at meredithenest@hotmail.com .

  • I?m not trying to cause drama or anything but it would be nice if maybe you guys did these follow up GTG posts through email instead of on the board. I understand that apparently I don?t post enough to warrant an invitation and don?t have hard feelings (well not that hard) but it?s not fun to be excluded AND have to constantly read about it.

How are you excluded? Did you ask for an invite? and it's also kind of a PITA to send out an email and flood everyone's inbox with responses, it's easier to do it here.

Oh,and no, you would NOT be labeled an alcoholic. We need drinks! Noelle can send you the evite. I'm glad you're coming!

the invite was NOT exclusionary. I don't see you responding here

Its an open invitation. You have to respond in order to get the e-vite.

This. Although to be technical, it's not for everyone (smooches Kat!), we have to "know" you, since it's going to be at someone's house. You post enough that we would have sent you the evite if you had asked for it.

There were several various posts in the last few weeks asking if anyone wanted an invite to PM Noelle. No one was being excluded. Sad

  • Although it's my understanding that you were invited, but you have not responded to the invitation.

Yes, I sent a PM with my email address after the initial posting. I explained how I realized I was relatively new to the board and light on posting but that I?d love to come if I made the cut. I completely understand that email can be PITA and you have every right to post on the board about whatever you want. It was just alternative view point to keep in mind.

I would check your spam box, and/or get with Noelle, because you were sent the invite.

  • I just checked the evite, and you are on the invite list, but haven't responded.
  • Now THIS is the kind of excitment this board needs, obviously not at the expense of someones feelings but still.

  • I have no idea yet because I will be coming from a birthday party in Kennesaw most likely. I will let you know.
  • I'm not 100% sure yet, but probably some sort of dip (I'm thinking a sun dried tomato/pesto dip) since I'm sure anything warm will be cool by the time I get there!  I might bring a dessert item as well!

I do have a question about the gift....is it a secret santa, do we draw names/numbers...how is that all working since this is my first?!  Do we just bring a gift wrapped pretty with no name or anything on it?

That. Then we just start choosing gifts, it's a white elephant thing, can't remember the rules of how many times a gift can be chosen, etc.

    Okay, thanks dude!
  • I'll be there around 3PM. I'm literally coming in from East Bumble, and it was a total fight to leave "early" a.k.a. "ON TIME". Angry MrBamf can drop me off and come back for me afterward. Le sigh.

I'll be bringing something store-bought. Sorries. I have no idea what yet, but I'll update as soon as I know.

  • I'm fleeting in and out since I have a bike team meeting (thankfully about 5 min. away) at 3:00. I won't be able to stay for presents and drinks. Crying
  • Don't forget your matching outfits for the choreographed dance!

  • ill bring an eclair dessert unless there are already too many desserts.

does white elephant gift mean a silly gift or a normal gift?

it can be anything. We used to do them here at work and the gifts ranged from scratch-off lotto tickets, a very fugly water pitcher, a case of beer (??), a board game, a nightlight, fruitcake, picture frame, a decor plate, picture frame, bad CD (think like Michael Bolton), etc

It can be good or bad. It can be purchased new or lying around your house.

Ooh, I was planning on making a spinach dip.  Would you prefer the dessert or spin/artichoke dip?

Don't worry, I'm working on it.
    Get it on!
  • Looks like I need to bring some food along with the Mimosas. Let me think of something and respond tomorrow.
