I think we are going to buy this high chair. It is way overpriced (400 dollars)but we love it.

Re: Judge me

  • I can't because I skipped reading whatever you said and went straight to OMIGOD COOLEST HIGH CHAIR EVER.

    I love it.

  • Does it come with a barber's pole?
  • No judgment here.  I think it is cool.  If you have the 4 hundo, get what you like.

I love getting modern/design-y baby furniture.

  • I think I would want it to prepare the food for me as well.
    image
  • that looks like what they would have used if the Jetsons had a baby!

the other upside to that high chair is that once he's done eating you can just whip out the clippers and give him the old 'little off the top and trim up the sideburns' treatment.

    but 400. cheese and crackers.

just think about how this chair will make you feel like a maniac when it gets caked with fossilized rotten bananas and spoiled cottage cheese!

  • $400? Yeah, that gets an eyebrow raise from me. But we're cheap (read: poor law student) so there's that.

I do like it, but it's just going to get covered in sweet potatoes and yogurt.

  • FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS?!?!?!?! GORSH. (my best hayseed impersonation)

What's the cushion situation on the seat? Our Chicco is a PITA to clean, too many crevasses and nooks for table food to get stuck in. Ugh.

    image Ready to rumble.
  • His new nickname is Mork. Nanu nanu
  • god damn it loch ness monsta! everyone thought of my jokes before i could post! Angry

  • Since it's hard to hide the highchair, I see nothing wrong with getting something that goes with your decor, especially since you will use it for multiple kiddos.
    image
  • the fact that fallin isn't judging this has justified it. the rest of you will now be ignored
  • Shamwow and I think alike.  It looks like Mork's little thing.  Of course, then you'd have to put Dagger in it upside down, and I imagine that could cause choking when you try to feed him.

  • I think that's hideous.  And completely unecessary.
  • I'm pretty anal about attempting to keep our cheap high chair clean. I imagine a $400 high chair would send me into melt downs every time he ate.
    image
  • I dont so much judge people who have money for spending it.

Now if whats her name who bought the wedding dress from China bought it I would have an issue.

  • mixed reviews on cleaning it kristen. you can get new pads.
  • I lik it! It looks very dutch/modern (therefore you). If you have the ability to afford t and get it, do it!
  • Dude, she's not spending $400 on a high chair, she's spending $400 on not having to look at this.

    image

Although, if I was going to spend that kind of money on a high chair, I would get a tripp trapp.  But I think this one will look kick ass in your house.

  • Oh come on, there are plenty of non-Pooh high chairs that aren't $400.

  • SB gets me.

There is actually a wooden Graco one that I like that is 1/2 the price. But Mr. Winged loves this one. And it has a higher weight limit and turns into a youth barstool/chair. He is willing to dish out more for this. He has an obsession with egg chairs anyway.

True, there are many that aren't that bad.

But there are not many that aren't super baby looking, with big plastic parts and ugly fabrics. We have a small open floorplan house and want something stylish.

  • Of course there are.  There's one I love at Ikea for $20 and wish it came in adult version.

I guess I just don't see the difference between spending extra money on a high chair you love versus a couch you love.  Both are pieces of furniture that you are going to see all the time.  But I don't have the bebe.

  • I'm not one to care how much someone spends on stuff (although who saw that post on p&ce about the $40m house?? anyway), but I will tell you this: if there were one thing I would go back and never bother to purchase it would be a high chair. I would have gotten a booster seat from day one.
    image Guess who?
  • Eh, if you can afford it, have at it.  Buying him a tiny suit and ray gun may break the bank, though.

  • Really fitty? We have a booster seat and Ryker is going to kill himself in it. He likes to kick himself backward
  • I don't understand why more companies don't make highchairs, swings, and the other big pieces that stay out in common areas that are more appropriate for house decor.

Well that's a good point - Matt never had any issues like that with the booster seat. And the high chair was just a pita, it was clunky, in the way and a hugenormous bitcch to clean. I will never understand why they make high chairs with so many seams and cracks and crevices and holes.

Shamon. Our high chair was a gift, but I originally wanted a wooden one to match our dining room furniture. The ones that aren't plastic and crazy colored are expensive.

  • Fallin, the companies that do are generally European and expensive. I do think Carter's did a pretty good job even though I could do without the patterned cover.
