Really fitty? We have a booster seat and Ryker is going to kill himself in it. He likes to kick himself backward

That is what I was thinking about the one that SB posted.  Andy could snap that Pooh in a second.  He always rocked like crazy in his seat.

We stopped using ours once we put the house on the market (and just have never bothered to bring it back out).  Boosters never seemed strong enough for that.

  • The question you really need to ask yourself is if the high chair goes with the decor of the fancy dog house.

Fallin, the companies that do are generally European and expensive. I do think Carter's did a pretty good job even though I could do without the patterned cover.

Yeah, I guess I'm just surprised there's not more demand (and thus cheaper options for more neutrals. I mean I wouldn't want that cover on my dining rooms chairs, why would I want it on the highchair next to them?  Or why would I want a primary cover safari theme swing next to my nice beige couch.

That high chair would definitely clash with the wainscoting.

  • Hold on, my kid cant eat on the floor like the cats?

I'm not one to care how much someone spends on stuff (although who saw that post on p&ce about the $40m house?? anyway), but I will tell you this: if there were one thing I would go back and never bother to purchase it would be a high chair. I would have gotten a booster seat from day one.

yUP.   I'd buy the fisher price booster that just attaches to a chair.

  • Everything else we have gotten for Dagger is small stuff (we even got the travel swing) so that we could move it out of the main room and not have it look like babyland. The high chair seems to be the one thing that we cannot do that with, since he is not booster compatible.
  • I bought the FP booster to keep at my mom's house, and we used it over Thanksgiving. It was great for that, but I prefer the bigger high chair for daily use. It's just easier to feed him in it.

  • I thought we spent a lot for our $180 Graco high chair.  It's relatively unoffensive, but still very high-chair looking.  I am not one to judge anyone's purchases of anything.

  • Great, all of the spaceship/futre jokes have already been taken.

I don't remember seeing any of your house except the nursery, but if you like it and it goes with your house I wouldn't judge the cost.  If I made a bunch more money you guys would probably laugh at things I would buy (hello copycake cookie projector thing!).

  • We have the Fisher Price Space Saver. It's very very neutral, but certainly plastic fantastic. I like it just fine.

  • What is a cookie projector? Does it make cookies yummier?
  • It's like an overhead projector, but it projects the image down onto a work surface.  Then I could do anything.  Just print a picture of what I want, project it on my cookie, and trace.  That's how lazy people make cool cookies.

I could afford the cheapest one and have come close to buying it a few times.

  • That sounds cool. Although i doubt you need the easy way with your skills I am sure it would help you make even more cookies faster, which i support.

YES YES YES  This will be a regretted purchase.  I;m amynumbers (RIP) sure.

  • sPACESAVER!   That's the one.

I think all high chairs are ugly, even $400 ones. That's why I'm going with a booster.

I also think a lot of baby toys are ugly/junky looking and am determined to not have a house cluttered with the stuff. Yes, I'm sure it will happen, but for now let me have my dream.

It doesn't have to happen. We have kept it low key.

  • Given that the higchair only gets used for maybe 6 mos, I don't care so much about the look... it's temporary.  I won't go super ugly, but at the same time, I'm not blowing $400 for something I will only use for  short period of time simply b/c I like the look of it.

But, I prefer to spend my money on liquor and prostitutes.  Not baby crap.

  • I would die without the high chair. Not a $400 one, but any one. Where else would I park E with his breakfast and tv while I go get dressed/ready in the morning?  I guess I could use the booster, but I know he can't go anywhere in the high chair. I do have one that converts into stuff but so far it's just a high chair.
