digital camera recs please
so I'm on the hunt for a new camera. my current sony does not take pics fast enough!! way too much time from when i click the button to when it actually takes and then too much time in between before i can take another. i need something waaay faster with these 2 babies. gotta be quick! i have no desire to attempt to turn into any kind of professional or anything. i just need something that produces better quality pics and is faster than what i have. would like to stay under $500. thanks!!!

We are Very pleased with it and it is waterproof, so underwater pictures are awesome and shockproof if dropped.
Here are 2 pictures we took underwater:

I recommend a dslr if speed is what you need. Trying to keep up with Lils was the reason I got mine. Even if you keep in auto mode forever, it's still going to keep up with your kiddos much better than a p&s, and if you take the time to learn what it can do (i.e., what you can do with it), you'll be quite pleased. :-)
I think you're just going to be disappointed if you spend 500 on a point and shoot. Really.
The entry level DSLRs seem to run around $600, I think. I'm a Nikon girl, but Canons and Nikons are both great, so it's just a matter of what feels better in your hands.
My silly Lily is almost 4.
