What are you doing for New Year's?
Any resolutions planned?
DH & I are spending the weekend in Newport, RI.
My only resolution so far, is to remember to take my multi-vitamin every day.
Re: NYE plans
H's parents live in Downtown St. Pete off of the water near the pier and they have a great view of the fireworks! So we will be hanging out there all night with a few friends. We usually do this every year and then go to bars downtown, but this year I will be happy just to be awake at midnight. Jen- board games is a good idea! I am definitely going to make H's fam play with me
ETA: My resolution is to remember birthdays and send cards!! I am awful at this.
No idea.
We invited H's family over for the weekend. They bailed yesterday. BIL is still coming. We also invited some friends over, initially they said they could come, but they've been avoiding us..sooo... guess not, ha.
I guess I'll search around and see what is going on locally, probably nothing. The restaurant down the road from us is having a NYE party, thought about asking Chris if he wants to go there-- but the drinks are pretty expensive there.

DH and I are going to Melbourne Beach - I can't wait. I'm so excited to get away for the weekend! Not sure what we'll actually do there since nothing really goes on in that town. Probably find a local bar and drink too much... My main goal is to just relax with DH.
Resolutions - I don't have any, I never really make one...
That sounds really interesting - do you have a link? We just got a DSLR and I'm lost with the thing!

One of DH's cousin's is having a kid-free party, so we will be there. It should be a fun time.
I'm still thinking through resolutions/goals.
I'm SUPER jealous!!! I have always wanted to see the ball drop live!! Every year I price hotels in Times Square but we never book them and go....one year I will, I swear!!
Did I ever tell you that DH & I and BFF & her then BF tried to go see the ball drop one time. Long story short, we got a room in NJ somewhere & took the bus into the city. The closest we could get was 80-something street. It was sooooo crowded & awful... I will never do that again. The ball looked like an airplane, that's how far away we were. LOL. I don't blame you for wanting to stay home.
Oh lord, yes. You never told me but I know it is SO AWFUL! Our first year here we did the whole Times Square thing - we waited for about 7 hours in 1 degree weather. We were at 49th Street, I think, so we had a nice view but were still too far back to even be under the confetti. It was brutal. I can't believe you stayed out there if you were that far away! You guys are die-hards.
We've tossed around the idea of trying to go out there late and being as far back as we have to be, or even just going out after midnight just to snap some pictures. I know I will certainly not be doing any 7-hour wait again, especially if we can see it from our apartment! Our view may be slightly obscured, but it's warm here and comes with pizza.

We had no idea what to expect. I've watched it on tv, but didn't think the crowd was going to be like that. I don't think we got into the city until 9ish & then stood like sardines on whatever street we were on. People were pushing & shoving, but you couldn't move... awful.
Unless I can sit right next to *** Clark, I'll be watching it on tv from now on with a pizza too.
I love this resolution!
wow, you are so lucky!!
DH works till 7 on NYE and then was scheduled to work at 6 am on NYD, but he asked off and got it!!
So, a friend of ours (more like a friend-of-a-friend) is getting married that day, and she is having a big after-party at her parents ranch. So it is like a continuation of the reception- open bar, DJ, etc. I am super excited cause I love to dress-up on NYE!
We are copying what we did last year, which was pick up Chinese food, drink champagne/whatever, and watch tv/movies/ball drop. I work all day but H is off, so he damn well better have the food waiting for me right when I get home
And I don't think you could pay me to physically watch the ball drop in Times Square. What a freaking nightmare!
R Beach. I saw something on their sign this morning about a NYE shindig.
Do ya'll ever venture over to H.Beach?
This is exactly what were doing! I?m usually the first to put on a mini sparkly dress and go out this is the first year were staying in but I?m excited! This year has been so crazy and the holidays were fun but hectic we really just need a weekend to relax and with each other.
So were getting Chinese food (YUM), lighting a fire outside its supposed to be beautiful ,drinking lot?s of champagne and toasting to hopefully a better 2011!
I totally expected that you would be going out on the town but I'm happy that we're NYE-plans twins!
I really can't wait for that Chinese food!
I agree, here's to a better 2011!
You are both making me jealous!!
We are going to the home of some friend's for dinner and hanging out. They have children close to DS's age and another couple will be there with children. I know I will be too tired to stay up late, don't want to go out or get a babysitter, so this was perfect. I already told H next NYE we are getting a sitter(s) and going out and doign something really fun.
As for a resolution- I usually never make them, but I decided that I was going to give up my beloved flavored coffee creamer, (because it seemed ridiculous to try to be such a healthy eater if I was going to load up my coffee every day with artifical crap). But after playing around with natural, healthier alternatives, I came to the conclusion I just can't do it. So I decided my resolution instead to wear more accessories, since I've gotten lazy about it. I think I'll have much better luck with this one.
We're going to our usual NYE party at a friends house, should be fun! The theme this year is "Masquerade" so everyone is supposed to wear cute masks(I might make one) and dresses, glad it'll be warmer by Friday since their party is always in the backyard haha :-)
As for resolutions both H & I want to get into much better shape, my little sister's wedding is in July and I'm hoping to drop a few dress sizes by then!
We are going to keep it low key and go to a party at our neighbors. We always have a great time when we party with the neighbors but this year I will be sober
My New Years resolution is going to be to make sure that I get up and dressed everyday. I know it will be hard when Lila gets here, so I will allow myself to "bum it" for the first few weeks but over the past 4 years, I have gotten entirely too comfortable working from home.

Barf.
Sorry, I went there once and I will never go back. I watched this girl scrub down the little kitchen that they have, scrape food off of plates with her hands and then place the lettuce on the steak and cheese that I ordered.... without washing her hands.
Married Bio
LOL,gross.
We've never eaten there. We've only been to the bar out on the back patio once.
We used to eat there when it was Gators, or whatever it was before it was R Beach. That was probably 7-8 years ago.
Next time you're up visiting, let me know. Maybe we can do a mini GTG. Newport's not that far from us, it's just nice to stay the weekend & not have to worry about driving.
