Your wedding band (poll)

Just out of curiousity, I'm wondering how often you wear/take it off?[Poll]

  • Other....only when i'm doing something really dirty.  For example making pie crust or digging in dirt
  • I voted the "sleeping, showering, or washing my hands", but the truth is I only take it off when showering.  I thought maybe that choice was an either or kind of deal?  Maybe not haha.

  • I said sleeping, washing hands, and showering, but don't take it off when sleeping...only washing/showering.

Same....I also take it off when I'm cooking if it's something messy or raw meat

  • Always for showering and sometimes when applying lotion or doing messy work in the kitchen (picking meat off of a chicken or turkey, making meatballs, etc.) because my e-ring has filigree channels where crap gets stuck.

  • I voted for seldom... I tend to not wear it when I am at home mainly because I have scratched L with it. Its always on when we leave the house but at home I find myself taking it off to wash my hands, cook, shower, clean so its just easier to take it off so I remember where I put it. It kinda makes Mike a little crazy but I think he understands.

Does this make me a bad wife?

  • I said when I'm showering, washing my hands, etc and also when I'm at the gym. I'm nervous that the weights will scratch the metal and scuff the diamonds.

MIL literally freaks out whenever we talk about taking our rings off. Finally we had to tell her that they are insured for a reason and if anything happens then we'll just get new ones.

We also made it VERY clear that just because we take our rings off doesn't mean that we're not married or love each other less, the ring is just a symbol after all.

  • I only take it off when cleaning...don't want the chemicals getting on them

  • I take it off when doing something messy, when I remember that is, and when putting lotion on...otherwise it is on at all times

  • I only take mine off in the kitchen - either handling raw meat, or if I need to work a dough or something.  I don't like taking my "permanent" jewelry off, because I so easily forget to put it back on.  Last time I took my ring off for a shower, I don't think I wore it for a week, because I kept forgetting about it.

  • Is it bad that I LOVE wearing my ring(s) at the gym.  I feel like there are always so many girls all done up trying to look cute at the gym and this is awful, but I sometimes feel like by wearing my rings and not even attempting to look cute, I'm saying "bam b!tches, it's not all about looks to find a man". Haha, how awful of me to admit.

I love when I see married couples at the gym, not necessarily working out together, but in passing on each of their routines

  • Other- Only when I am showering. I wear gloves if I do dishes. My rings already need to be "re-dipped" so annoying. I love white gold but I don't want to part with my rings again to be sent out.

  • I chose the sleeping/showering/washing hands, but it is really only when showering.  Also when I am cooking or baking and my hands are getting really dirty.

  • -when I'm sleeping because I have really dry hands and put lotion on right before I go to sleep

-when I shower because I usually do this when I first wake up and then apply body lotion afterward, so there's no point in putting the ring on until I've finished all that.

-If I'm just washing my hands during the daytime, the ring usually stays on.

    "You're the L and the V, I'm the O and the E...Am I speaking clearly?"
  • I said sleeping/showering/washing hands but it's really when I'm just getting ready and applying lotion. Otherwise I hardly take it off. I had a tendency in my past to take off rings for everything and then lose them. I lost my Grandma's ring because of that and I loved it so I hardly take my rings off now bc of that.

  • Often in the winter (if I'm not going out again) Dom and I put on our PJ's (comfy clothes) right when we get home and then I usually take off my rings then.  Cause I often then I'm cooking or cleaning and don't want to get them dirty

I don't wear them to bed anymore cause I once scratched Dom's face with my e-ring in my sleep.  After that I don't wear them to bed.  Haha

  • I voted "never," but that's not ENTIRELY true - I had to take it off for surgery, but I don't consider that my choice. :)

I have an excellent quality ring that can withstand anything I'm going to use my hands for, it's a perfect fit and isn't going to slip off, and it's insured - so I see no need to take it off.

Same here. We have a little ring holder that I put my rings on when showering. I wear them when sleeping and usually while cooking as well. DH does the dishes and I think he takes his ring off then.

Also, I always wear both my band and my e-ring.

  • I'm with Melissa on voting "never". I have good insurance on my rings and I am far too forgetful to take it off. I have taken it off a couple of time working in the kitchen but it made me so nervous I now just wear gloves when working with dough or cleaning products.

  • I voted NEVER but I am with Melissa. I do take it off to put on hand lotion or when making meatloaf or something messy. Other than those 2 things it never leaves my finger. Unless my single friends feel the need to try it on :)

  • I have a tendency to play with mine quite a bit, since its just my wedding band. I pull it off my finger & twirl it around, and sometimes i accidentally switch it to a different finger when im not paying attention. lol But aside from that, i never actually "take it off".

This and when washing dishes.  If I don't wear it to sleep I have trouble getting it back on in the morning.

This.  Both of them.  And when I am at the beach...but mostly because I am afraid of it (or any of the diamonds) to fall off in the sand and be lost forever.

    This.

  • I only take it off to shower, go swimming or putting hand lotion on.

  • I didn't vote, none of them are really right.

I wear my E-ring and my band all the time.  They only come off if I'm doing something "yucky," applying lotion, painting/staining, handling raw meat/dough, etc.
