I finally have a non-chick lit book to recommend! Room is written from the perspective of 5-year old boy who is held captive with his mother in an 11x11 room. It is somewhat troubling, but also captivating. Just thought I'd share for you avid readers and new Kindle owners. http://www.amazon.com/Room-A-Novel-ebook/dp/B003YFIUW8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1293738784&sr=8-3
ETA: I still don't know how to make clickable links. Help!

my read shelf:
I'll be putting this on my list, for when I need a break from all the romance!
ETA: It sounds a lot like "The Boy Called It" which was also terribly disturbing, but a great book overall. It makes me sick that these God-awful people really are in this world and are capable of doing this to children.
I think I have it on my Kindle. It doesn't seem like the kind of book I'd normally read. Scratch that, it does SEEM like the kind of book I'd normally read, but for some reason it just doesn't grab me. But so many people have recommended it that I'm going to give it a try.
I also believe it is the Nest Book Club board's reading club book for February.

Oooh thanks for the suggestion. I'm almost done with Sarah's Key, which I think Montana? had suggested on another post.
I'm always open to book suggestions.
