How is everyone this morning?
Re: Wednesday Randoms.
I'm so ready for the weekend. I want to sleep in!
I am here
Buster peed on the floor again. So its to the pet store to get litter to change out and now I am going to have to scoop out every day now. Ugh but atleast it will work. Broom is in the tub bleached and drying. What a nice beginning of day. LOL
How is everyone else? Hope it wasn't too cold for everyone. I want spring
I just found airfare on from Chicago to Maui for $472/person. That's crazy cheap. Typically, anything under $700 is a decent price.
I think my head is going to explode.
Excited for T's party? What are you getting him?
Going to go?
Honestly, it always surprises me when I hear of people who don't scoop every day. One of my cats would never allow that. She perfers a pristine litter box.
Me too! That the first thing I thought of when I got up this morning.
I don't know. Typically, I wouldn't want to drive to CHI for a flight, but at this price it would be worth it.
My husband and I had talked about going to Hawaii next fall (hence, my reason for setting up a fare alert), but we hadn't come close to deciding yet.
And since we're (obviously) terrible decision makers, I'm afraid these rates will be gone before we decide.
So tempting though...
Oooh when is that for?!?
We got him Little People Wheelies.
We will possibly get him a wagon as well.
Now that is cool
Don't laugh at me..... however Costco has a travel dept and supposedly their deals to Hawaii are supposed to be really good. We just got in a coupon book the other day and I saw that they were promoting a trip to Hawaii for like $1,000 pp. I have no clue on the details and i just cut out coupons so I don't have access anymore. however it might be worth looking online to see what kind of deals you could get.
Molly, it's for September/October.
gvsu, thanks for the suggestion!
Wow thats awesome. We were talking about going in October.
Good nearly afternoon girls.
I went to bed at 2:30am only to have to wake up at 7am to go the a volunteer information session for Laughfest which lasted until 9am. I cam home and snuggled back into bed and just work back up about 20 minuets ago. Shamful, I know.
I'm looking forward to the Laughfest and they still need more volunteers if anyone wants to sign up. I have some information. They figure they need about 1000 people to volunteer and are only about half way with opening day about 8 weeks away.
These prices are really tempting.
They sure are! Which search engine/program was offering those prices?
Yesterday on Vayama, tickets from Chicago to Paris were $578 for the first week of April. Talk about TEMPTING!
BUY THE TICKETS ALREADY!!! Seriously!!!! Buy them....be implusive. Buy the tickets now and figure out where you are going to stay. Take advantage of the freedom you have to do that. Once you get the plane tickets, then you guys can have fun planning the trip. There will be no stresses like you guys had last year.
These rates are only available on American Airlines. Kayak and FareCompare are both showing them too, though.
American seems to be running some really good specials right now, I assume because of their feud with Expedia and Orbitz.
Those Paris tickets are really tempting, too! Are you thinking about going to Europe?
gvsu, I emailed B an hour ago and told him that I was having a hard time thinking of reasons not to get these tickets. I'm sure he can think of a milion reasons (because he's really good at that), but I also know he's tempted too.
Ditto Chymes and GVSU. I just searched for those tickets and couldn't fine them...I was going to buy them! lol.
Molly, they're still available on aa.com (I just checked again). Search for flights from ORD to OGG in September or October. Under the results, they're listed in the "economy super saver" category and start at $211 one way.
So, guys, does it suck flying out of O'Hare? I think that's the biggest thing slowing me down. In seems like a PIA to drive to Chicago to catch a flight.
We'll talk about it tonight and hopefully we can decide before these prices disappear.
I know my husband is super busy at work today and doesn't really have much time to think about it this afternoon.
I have flown out of O'Hare lot's of times. I don't mind it at all. We usually do the Park, Sleep and Fly so we don't have to pay for airport parking and we don't have to rush to get there super early in the morning.

For us, the PIA is way worse coming home than leaving for the trip. It's no problem driving down there because you're excited about vacation, the anticipation, etc. But coming home, it's like you fly all the way to your "destination," i.e. the last stop on your flight itinerary, so you feel like the traveling is over...but then you STILL have to drive three hours before you're home. That part is a big drag. We've only flown out of Chicago a few times because of this, but those times have all been because of extreme price savings and/or flights only available from Chicago. You weigh the options and do what's best for you as travelers.
And no, we are not considering going to Europe - but a friend posted those Paris prices on Facebook and I haven't been able to get it out of my head!
