  • Just went to my first WW @ Work meeting!  I've tried WW online only before and it wasn't great.  I'm hoping the meetings will keep me honest.  I've developed some really bad habits that I've been able to get away with because I'm nursing, but that is coming to an end soon so I need to course correct now.  I'm currently a couple pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight, but could definitely stand to lose 20-30 to get into the healthy BMI range.  That said, according to my life insurance exam, everything other than my weight is awesome, b/c I actually got a better rate after the exam than what they quoted me based on BMI alone.

    I've had success with Jenny Craig before, but I felt like it was a better fit for me when I was single and living alone.  Now I want to eat dinner with my husband every night.

    The most weight I ever lost was after a horrible breakup, but I don't recommend that.

  • I'm a WW.  I have gained a lot back since I quit going to meetings.  It's a must for me.  I'm ready to get back on track though.  Oddly, I quit when my dad went to the hospital with his most recent health crisis. 
  • I signed up as online only, but I'm wondering if I should have signed up for meetings.  I mostly didn't choose them now because I figured they would be overflowing with people in the month of January.  I've done meetings in the past and had both good and bad experiences.  Sadly the meeting location right by my house is at the Lesbian Life Center.  The meetings are open to everyone, but most of the members are involved in the life center in other ways, and they're not very nice to people who just come for WW. As in - there's a sectional in the meeting room that only certain people were allowed to sit on. Not exactly a warm and supportive environment.  And that's probably the meeting I would go back to.  Bleh.

  • We were lucky enough to get a WW at work meeting started a year ago.  We had almost 40 join initially and then barely got the 20 needed to keep going in the fall.  I'm hoping that interest will be up again with the new year.  I don't know that I'd go to meetings if they weren't right here during the work day.

  • I just don't think the meetings would be helpful for me.  I did attend two way back in the day, and they didn't hold my attention.  And I couldn't care less if a bunch of strangers saw I gained 100 pounds in one week.  The public shaming only works if I know the people or care what they think of me.

  • Well, for obvious reasons I am on the gaining weight end, but I would love to see how WW works out for all you post-pregnancy mamas, and healthy eating recipes are always a plus!
  • I am planning on joining online after failing to stick to it through the holidays.  I will also go to meetings after the resolution people dwindle.

    I'm interested to see how many points I will get and how things I normally enjoy will add up.  Maybe I can use you all to hold me accountable.  That's a scary thought.  It might scare my fat ass into losing the weight.

    My in laws are in town right now, and totally cramping the 'healthy eating' thing...mostly because I have no self control and don't usually keep junk food in the house at all, but my FIL brought in like 50 dollars worth of junk food.

  • I think this post is what I needed to get my fatass off the couch tonight. My Wii Fit is probably going to groan at me.

    I did WW online about 8 years ago, I wonder if it will remember me and make me feel like crap for how much I've gained in that time. For those of you that have done WW before, do you like the new points system better?

    I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
  • You people who have lost 25 and 50 plus pounds are frickin amazing. That is difficult and awesome.

    I am also needing to get on the health train. Similar to Buddha, I'm in my healthy weight range, but I am just soft and out of shape and along with some toning, I could definitely stand to lose a few pounds. 

    I don't think I need to join a formal program as far as my diet goes. I mostly eat alright, I just need to learn to control the sugar and carb intake. Getting exercise is the big thing I need to tackle. It's so hard to work out here when it's cold and awful for more than half the year. I hate being inside a gym more than I hate anything in this world. If I lived somewhere where I could play around outside and do sports and stuff all year round, I'd be good to go. 

    Christin, I think doing healthy recipe/exercise/weight loss AW threads is a great idea. Everyone can motivate and encourage one another!
